THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – CHRISTMAS AT THE GOLDEN DRAGON (2022)

First-generation immigrants Jim and Sue Chen (Vincent Cheng and Sharon Crandall) have spent a lifetime running the Golden Dragon in Wichita, Kansas.

But right before Christmas they announce they are closing the restaurant on Christmas Eve, which is a surprise to everyone not least their children Romy and Rick (Kara Wang and Osric Chau) who were raised in the Golden dragon.

So as it’s the last Christmas the staff and customers want to show how important the place has been to them as they re-examine their relationships in a series of interconnected stories amid the chaos of its busiest week of the year.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – THE LAST STRAW (2014)

Its Christmas break and Paula and Richard McDonald (Britani Bateman and Adam Johnson) have their hands full with their four children, Eric, Kelly, Randi and Amber (Bryton Myler, Cassidy Nelson, Emerson Hamp, and Aisha Garcia) their visiting seventeen-year-old niece Jordan (Madison Bontempo) and G2 the dog.

Paula is at the end of her tether with all the bickering and bad behaviour, so she comes up with an innovative idea to make everyone get along.

Then she remembers an old tradition of building a soft bed of straw for Baby Jesus, one straw at a time, by the secretly doing nice deeds for another family member, each person gets to add a single straw to the manger.

Soon the quarrelling subsides, and the homemade crib overflows and a peaceful loving Christmas ensues helped by their kindly neighbour Mr G (Corbin Bernsen) and his Grandson Landon (Darien Willardson).

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – WELCOME TO HOPE: A HOLIDAY HOMECOMING (2021)

St. Jerome's Children’s Home in Hope, NY, is damaged by fire just before Christmas and Pastor Luke (Kenney Myers) urges members of his congregation to come to the aid of the displaced foster children, at least for the holidays.

Among them are Maggie O'Shea (Taryn Hacker) and her boyfriend Jessie McNeil (Jon Hacker) and Maggie is very keen to help but she is from a large family and there just isn’t enough room.

Jessie however lives with his father Joe (Al Pagano) and they have plenty of room, so they take in siblings Abigail and David (Allison Mullaney and Robert Levey II).

However because of her insecurities Abigail is convinced that they are only doing it for the money and wants to run away.

But Maggie and Jessie convince her that she is wanted and like many families they find the foster children complete their homes and families.

City Lawyer Sara Thompson (Shenae Grimes-Beech) returns to her hometown of Oakcrest to help her mother (Beth Broderick) move out of the family home and into a condo and is surprised to find her ex-boyfriend Josh Hartman (Niall Matter) is also back home.

When they were in high school, they planned a life in music together, but Sara won a scholarship to Harvard and left to study law, while he went on to have a music career.

The former sweethearts slowly reconnect while working together on the Christmas concert and try to heal wounds both old and new and make it a Christmas to remember.

Widowed optometrist Dr. Michelle Stevens (Katrina Bowden) is determined to make Christmas special for her daughter Bailey (Ava Weiss) as they were both missing Bailey's father.

When she meets her daughter’s favourite teacher Ryan Tanner (Christopher Russell), who teaches science, she sees through the bah humbug charade and  believes he is hiding the secret that he is severely colour-blind.

So she takes it upon herself to discover the truth, and when he admits it to her, she enrols him on a trial to test some new technology, but he is reluctant, even though she believes may open up his world.

So she perseveres because a connection seems to be happening between them, so will she help bring colour into his life in time for Christmas while also brightening her life in the process, and making Bailey’s wish come true.

Ice skating instructor Alison Grant (Courtney Mathews) loses her job at the ice rink so she begins teaching students on the frozen pond of her friend Mrs Nixon’s (Tricia Harmon)

On the first day of class her old high school sweetheart, famous ice hockey player, Ivan Hall (Aaron Noble) unexpectedly shows up having enrolled his niece in her class.

Naturally there is an initial cold reunion, and her Bobby Harrison (Robert Laenen) certainly isn’t happy about it, but eventually Alison warms up to Ivan again as they reconnect, especially after Bobby’s plans for the town are revealed.
