In the depths of Winter two French nuns, Sister Margaret (Loretta
Young) and Sister Scholastica (Celeste
Holm) arrive in the small New England town of Bethlehem
to build
a children’s hospital.
They first meet religious artist Amelia Potts (Elsa
Lanchester) who suggests a nearby hill as a suitable location
which sets events in motion.
Beginning with composer Bob Masen
(Hugh Marlowe), New York racketeer Luigi Rossi (Thomas
Gomez), Local Bishop (Basil Ruysdael), Bobs
Porter Anthony
James (Dooley Wilson), Kitty Blaine (Dorothy Patrick) Monsignor
Talbot (Regis Toomey) and Sam (Mike Mazurki) all make it happen.
