THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – SEALED WITH A LIST (2023)

 

Just before Christmas Carley Kincaid (Katie Findlay) misses out on a promotion and the CEO Silas Redmond (Martin Donovan) appoints his son Wyatt (Evan Roderick) as her boss.

Encouraged by her best friend Jamie (Kelcey Mawema), who is moving to Italy) she makes a list of New Year's resolutions to change her life.

Almost a year later, she hasn’t ticked a single thing off the list, and she's still working at the same job, and she panics when Jamie tells her she’s coming home for Christmas so she is galvanized into action, top of the list is quitting her job, so she takes the blame for something Wyatt did and is sacked.

Because of his attitude Silas threatens to cut Wyatt off unless he changes his ways.

So, Carly and Wyatt form an alliance, he helps her fulfil her resolutions and she helps get his life together.

But while helping each other will they find love for the New Year?

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET (1973)

 

There have been a few versions of Miracle on 34th Street and are well worth watching, though some more than others.

It’s the story of a child, Susan Walker (Suzanne Davidson) who has been brought up by her mother Karen (Jane Alexander) not to believe in Santa Claus however she unknowingly employs the real Kris Kringle (Sebastian Cabot) to be Santa Claus at Macy’s department store and the more time Susan spends with Kris the more she believes.

However, Kris is arrested and has to go to trial where Bill Schaffner (David Hartman) has to prove he is the real Santa and is not insane.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET (1959)

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – SECRETS IN THE SNOW (2012)

 

It’s the last day before Christmas break and the students of Eastbrook High are sitting their final exams before the holidays but midway through them a major snowstorm hits and the school is forced to close. 

Six students, Mary Jake Harper, Grayson Thompson, Brant Journigan, Anthony Goodwin, Camile Sanders and Lynn Bolton (Hollie Bahar, Vincent Seidle, Aaron Michael Johnson, Ashley Murray, Katie McCaffrey and Elizabeth Potthast) who are unable to arrange transportation before the storm worsens are forced to remain in the school.

Although they were known to each other, they were not “friends” but were confined in the library with teacher Cynthia Burgess (Karen Boles) but as the storm fails to abate and the doors are locked.

In their confinement old wounds are opened and new friendships are created, as secrets are revealed about what has shaped their lives.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – SNOW 2 (2008)

 

Three days before Christmas, and Nick and Sandy Snowden's (Tom Cavanagh and Ashley Williams)

first anniversary they have an argument resulting in Nick storming off through his travel portal, a mirror.

Arriving at his chosen destination, Nick gets hit on the head and ends up with amnesia, Sandy finds out about Nick's plight and sets off to rescue him in time to save Christmas.

But she is warned that she can only assist him but that his memory has to come back on its own.

Unfortunately, someone else sees Nick's story on the television news, Hunter Buck Seger (Patrick Fabian) who coveted Sandy and blamed Nick stealing her away from him so he does everything he can to keep them apart.

Nick is helped by a young street kid named Ryan (Alexander Conti) and an elderly man Henry Mays (Hal Williams) and between Sandy, Ryan and Henry they manage to thwart Bucks plans and restore Nick to his former self, and then Sandy has some special news for him.

Hunter Buck Seger (Patrick Fabian) had to provide some reindeer from a game farm for the San Ernesto California Zoo where a lonely animal keeper Sandy Brooks (Ashley Williams) works.

Buck is attracted to her however, but she detests him, but he is continually pestering her to go out with him.

It turns out that one of the Reindeer he provided was Buddy, one of Santa's new reindeer, who he is teaching to fly, before Christmas Eve.

So, Santa (Tom Cavanagh) has to go to San Ernesto under the name of Nick Snowden to rescue Buddy, using mirrors to travel to and from the North Pole.

While in San Ernesto, Nick manages to move into the boarding house where Sandy lives and falls for Sandy, which doesn’t sit well with Buck.

Getting Buddy back is made more difficult when Buck learns that Buddy is special, so Nick must rescue Buddy and get him back to the North Pole along with Sandy with whom he has falling in love.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – RETURN TO SENDER (2024)

When Meg Madison (Maddy Hillis) moves into her new apartment her friend Brittany (Sydney Scotia) discovers a weathered old envelope in the mailbox marked Return to Sender.

So, after opening the letter she and building manager Ollie Roberts (Markian Tarasiuk) join forces with podcasters Ellen and Pete (Sophia McDowell and Ian Collins) set about finding out who sent the mysterious love letter.

While Brittany and Ollies brother Darren (Michael Dallamore) follow a different path as the puzzle solving team follow the clues to the secret of two lovers separated for want of an undelivered love letter, will they all find love for themselves.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – OUR CHRISTMAS LOVE STORY (2022)

On Christmas Eve Michelle Michaels (Stephanie Charles) believes her boyfriend Richard Marks (Tremayne Norris) has been cheating on her and is just another unfaithful man who has broken her heart on another Christmas.

But later that evening she is visited by her friend and co-worker Daphne Jordan (Kendyl McCray) and her husband Trent (Reggie Gaskins) and they can see her sadness and she tells them what had happened and that another Christmas had been ruined and she hadn’t had a happy Christmas since she was 12.

So, Daphne and Trent decide to try and cheer her up because Daphne could totally relate and then she and Trent shared their love story with her to encourage her to never give up on love and never stop believing in Christmas miracles. 

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – FLIPPING FOR CHRISTMAS (2023)

Just before Christmas, big city realtor Abigail (Ashley Newbrough) is asked by her sister Claire (Natalie Lisinska) to return home for Christmas to help her Flip the house she has just inherited.

But when she gets home she realizes that it’s not going to be the easy flip she thought it would be as her sister only has a half share, the other half was left to Bo (Marcus Rosner) and he is not for selling as he has a different idea, he wants to convert it to a B&B.

This inevitably leads to friction with the quick sale approach of the sisters and the traditional co-owner Bo.

But as Abby and Bo work together on the renovation, in a flirty charming rivalry and leads to an eventual romance.

However, there are dark clouds ahead when a ruthless developer Antonio (Ray Galletti) who Abigail has worked for is looking to buy a substantial chunk of the town at any cost.

So will Abigail review her professional choices and follow her heart, providing she can weather the storm. 

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – CONFESSIONS OF A CHRISTMAS LETTER (2024)

Quirky and eccentric matriarch of the family, Settie Rose (Angela Kinsey), is crazy for Christmas, and Christmas makes her a little crazy, and the biggest manifestation of her craziness is the town's annual holiday letter-writing contest, which she has never won, in fact her nemesis Sue (Colleen Wheeler) wins it every year.

So she decides to hire struggling novelist Juan (Alec Santos) to compose the perfect Christmas letter, however when he arrives people assume he is engaged to Settie's daughter Lily (Lillian Doucet-Roche) so he goes along with it and bonds with the whole family, but especially Lily, and the whole family scrambles to keep up the charade.

So will Juan overcome his writer's block and will Settie learns that being imperfect is the best way to make a perfect family Christmas.

 

Fred Ewanuick, Barbara Pollard, Garry Chalk, Fei Ren, Karen Holness, Jake Foy, Jorge Montesi,

Javier Lacroix and Andy Thompson also star.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – A CHRISTMAS FOR THE AGES (2023)

 

Four generations of mothers and daughters in the same family, Marie (Anna Ferguson), her daughter Joan (Cheryl Ladd), granddaughter Kristi (Kate Craven), and Great Granddaughter Savannah adhere to  their traditions at Christmas, from their annual tea to kick off the season, family gatherings, a Christmas crawl, of an appetizer party, a formal sit-down dinner and a dessert party and concluding with the Christmas Eve concert, where the four women will perform Christmas songs on stage at the theatre.

All ably supported by the men in their lives, Jim (Mel Tuck), Paul (Dean Paul Gibson), Steve (Giles Panton) and Rudy (Anthony Timpano).

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – OLD FRIENDS AT CHRISTMAS (2022)

Grieving widow Julie (Erica Durance) and her young son Gavin (Azriel Dalman) move to a new home after the death of her husband and face their first Christmas alone.

She tries her hardest to do all the same activities and maintain all the same traditions as when her husband was still alive, but Gavin is resistant.

But then their retired older neighbour Irene (Lynn Whitfield), repeatedly comes into their lives, offering wisdom and helping to them deal with their grief and to see a future after loss.

Julie also meets restaurant owner Peter (Patrick Sabongui) offering her a possibility of new romance.

They both encourage Julie and Gavin to make new memories and rekindle joy, ultimately helping them both during the Christmas season.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – SANTA & ME (2012)

 

13-year-old rich kid Rubie (Athena Baumeister) is a mean, selfish, spoilt bully who doesn’t differentiate between students and faculty with her venom.

Her stepmom Patricia (Christine Springett) tries to warn her super rich Father, Gordon (David Neff) that he is spoiling her by pandering to her every whim, but he doesn’t heed the warning.

So it’s up to Santa Claus (Freddie De Grate) to cure her meanness, by making her as ugly on the outside as she is on the inside and she wakes up the next day with matted hair, bad teeth, poor vision, warts and a monobrow and only her stepbrother Elliot (Lucas Barker) knows why.

All her old superficial friends want no more to do with her only one of her bullying victims Olivia (Alyssa Kennedy) gives her the time of day.

Santa tells her that she must get a real present from a real friend by Christmas or stay a monster for ever.

So, over the following year she has to learn from the mistakes of her past, change her behaviour.

So, will her friendship with Olivia prove to be her redemption?

Young Travis Jr. (DJ Burch) is excited about Christmas because his father Travis Sr. (Tommy Potter) is home after finishing his service in the army and for the first time in his life  the whole family will be home for Christmas and he wants Santa to bless his family with love and unity on Christmas Day.

However, his family is much too volatile for it to be that simple.

Patricia and her brother Gordon were in foster care but due to the difference in age, Patricia got her forever home and Gordon timed out of the system and ended up in the army and she never saw him again.

However, Hailey and her best friend Sarah (Stefania Indelicato) believe they have found Uncle Gordon (Grant Vlahovic) who has a daughter, her cousin, Brianna (Stephanie Van Dyck) and almost as important Gordons business partner, Jake (Benjamin Ayres) who she falls in love with.

But will it all blow up in her face?

While a vacuous social influencer Saskia Childs (Danielle Scott) is distracted by the paparazzi she her Pomeranian puppy, Belle, gets lost in the woods.

Another Pomeranian. Lucy Marie finds her and takes her back to her family’s ranch.

And the Grant family welcome her with open arms, ten-year-old Beth (Kitty Sudbery), her mum Sadie (Lora Hristova) and Grandmother Gloria (Donna King).

But Sadie thinks that they should post flyers in an attempt to find Belle’s owner and while she is out posting she meets Mike (Ethan Mckinley) and he completes the family.

Belle misses her mum, but the Grants really love her and show it all the time whereas her mum only cares about followers and money.

So, when Saskia turns up out of the blue on Christmas Day will Belle want to go home?

Or will she stay where she has found the true meaning of family?
