THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – SNOWGLOBE (2007)

 

Twenty-five-year-old singleton Angela Moreno (Christina Milian) is at the mercy of her  overbearing New York Cuban family (Lorraine Bracco, Ron Canada and Luciana Carro) who don’t understand boundaries.

The only person she could confide in is her friend and coworker Claire (Erin Karpluk) but was in sympathy with the family in their matchmaking efforts to get Angela to date and wed a suitable man, which the family think could be new neighbour Eddie

(Josh Cooke).

However after receiving a magical snowglobe she discovers a Christmas-themed dreamworld inside it when she goes to sleep and she is transported to an alternate reality, where she spends time with naive country people in permanent Christmas mood.

She also attracts and admirer while she is there, Douglas (Matt Keeslar) who then complicates matters when he follows her back to New York, followed later by his admirer Marie (Kailin See).

But when the snowglobe gets damaged and she is trapped inside it she realises that her Christmas, even with her family, wasn’t so bad after all.

Abby (Kristen Stewart) is planning to propose to Harper (Mackenzie Davis) at her family's annual Christmas dinner when she meets Harper's family for the first time.

She knew it was going to be tough but then she realises they don't even know their daughter is gay, and when she discovers Abby has kept their relationship a secret from her family, she begins to question everything about the girlfriend she thought she knew, which she needs to deal with while trying not to ruin Christmas.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – THE MISTLETOE INN (2017)

 

Just before Christmas aspiring romance novelist Kim Ross (Alicia Witt) is dumped by her almost published boyfriend Garth

(Casey Manderson) so she signs up for a week-long writing workshop at the quaint Mistletoe Inn in Vermont where a top romance novelist is scheduled to attend.

On arrival she meets Zeke (David Alpay) who ends up being her assignment partner, but annoyingly her ex-boyfriend is also at the retreat.

As the week progressed a surprising and unstoppable attraction builds between her and Zeke, but there is an even bigger surprise on the horizon.

Leslie Libby (Glenda Braganza) inherited the Penny Lane Foster Home in Detroit from her parents, which she runs with Claudette (Amalia Williamson), while David Marino (David Lipper) divides his time between his duties as a postman and caring for his wheelchair-bound widowed father Robert (Enrico Colantoni), and both of them are especially sad during the Christmas season.

Leslie and David’s paths cross when he becomes her postman at a time when she is on the verge of losing everything, including the six foster children under her care because of a corrupt building inspector, Gerald Montgomery (Seán Cullen) and his selfish daughter Milan Chatsworth (Jorja Cadence) who wants to adopt one photogenic child, Sam (Ava Weiss).

Wendell (Callum Shoniker) overhears crucial conversations about their futures, and she and Sam have a plan to make things right for everyone, including Leslie and David.

She took herself off to New York City,  on the pretext of staying with family while wedding shopping, when in fact she was there to make her secret dream come true by dancing live on stage in the Christmas Spectacular with the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall.

She just wanted to perform for one season before returning to Philadelphia to resume the life her parents (Carolyn McCormick and Byron Jennings) have planned for her and marriage Maxwell (Torsten Johnson).

But in New York, she experiences things she has never experienced before, like a sense of independence, camaraderie with her fellow Rockettes, Sofia (Sara Gallo), Janet (Larissa Schmitz) and Alice (Tiffany Denise Hobbs) and most significant of all Maggie learns what it means truly to be in love when she meets John Slater (Derek Klena) a feeling she had never felt before.

However they are from different Cities and different worlds, so can they have a future together?

She checks into the Presidential Suite, eats extravagantly and enjoys all the outdoor activities  the menu, snowboards, and rubs shoulders with a Congressman, a Senator, a retail magnate, and all their partners, and as she has only weeks to live she tells them all what she thinks, and they love her for it because they think she is their social equal.

But what will happen when they learn the truth?

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – A MERRY ROYAL CHRISTMAS (2024)

 

High-powered wedding planner Felicity (Kathryn Davis) is parachuted in at the last minute to plan a royal wedding between Princess Juliette (Rebecca Finch) and commoner George (Levi Mattey)  taking place on Christmas Day and is promised a chance to become a partner by her boss Wilhelmina (Jodie Steele).

Felicity travels there with her daughter Junie (Marley Quinlan-Gardner) and has to organize everything in a relatively short time, struggling between traditions and expectations.

When she arrives, she meets a handsome stranger, who she is shocked to discover later is the Prince whose sister is getting married.

The wedding also means that the Princess gives up her title, and that her brother, Vincent (Riley Neldam) will become Crown Prince instead.

As she works closely with Vincent, she learns that he has always lived a quiet life, staying out of the media spotlight and the last thing he wants is to be the heir to the throne.

The problem is the more they work together the closer they get but even falling in love can’t change his future, or can it?

Joan (Caranita Harrelson) is a successful lawyer who has just reached a milestone which she believed was the most important thing in her life and made sacrifices accordingly.

One such sacrifice was not seeing or speaking to her father for three years following an argument.

But with Christmas approaching and doubting the sacrifices were all worthwhile she decides to return to Wilmington and surprise her father during his favourite holiday.

However when she gets back home the surprise is on her as her father has passed away, and then one surprise follows another the last one being falling in love.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – A PICTURE PERFECT ROYAL CHRISTMAS (2020)

Beatrice Bitterley (Yana Marinova) is a famous photographer who receives an invitation from King Buckley (James Weber Brown) to photograph the Christmas festivities in the Kingdom of Pantrea which she turns down and goes on vacation instead.

Amanda Eastman (Roxanne McKee) is her assistant, and her friend Sunny (Manal El-Feitury) responds to the invitation on Amanda’s behalf. 

So Amanda travels to Pantrea but she is surprised to find that the Royal Court all believe that she is Beatrice and is travelling incognito.

When she meets Prince Leopold (David Witts) there is a palpable mutual attraction much to the annoyance of his fiancé Duchess Catherine (Sophie Vavasseur) and his mother Queen Gloriana (Sophie Ward).

So what will happen when Beatrice and the Pantrean’s find out the truth? 

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – MIRACLE ON CHRISTMAS (2020)

Mary Boyce (Erin Bethea) is short on holiday spirit, and is still struggling following the loss of her father and a terminal diagnosis for her husband James (Jason Burkey) and even her children Lydia and Caleb (Lily Bowen and Ethan Mathias) have noticed she has lost her faith.

When James and the children return from church on Christmas morning, they bring stranger Harry

(Brett Varvel) with them. 

Her sister Martha (Micah Lynn Hanson), husband Bill (Justin Mane) and nephew Josh (Brayden Eaton) are the first to arrive for the festivities, followed by Mother Helen (Kimberly Cruchon Brooks), and finally younger brother Peter (James Pilachowski) and his latest girlfriend Gabby (Jacqueline Yunez).

As they days go on Mary gets meaner and snappy and eventually the family lose patience with her and the truth comes flooding out about James and their unborn child.

But Harry is there to calm and sooth proving to be a miracle on Christmas Day. 

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – A BILTMORE CHRISTMAS (2023)

Screenwriter Lucy Hargrove (Bethany Joy Lenz) is hired to write the script for a remake of a classic holiday movie, "His Merry Wife!", filmed at Biltmore House in 1947.

To help her get a feel for the atmosphere the producers send her to the Biltmore Estate for research and inspiration where curator Winston (Jonathan Frakes) shows her some of the treasures, one of which is an hourglass used in the original movie.

On a tour of the house she meets Margaret (A.K. Benninghofen) a self-confessed movie nut, in particular "His Merry Wife!" which had always been a holiday staple for her and her mother, and she becomes her confident after Lucy accidentally knocks over the hourglass and finds herself transported back in time to 1947 when the Biltmore was a movie set.

While she is there, she meets Jack Huston (Kristoffer Polaha) and they make a connection she then finds she can travel back and forth until the hourglass is broken.

So she has to assume a role in the past while the hourglass is repaired 

and takes Jack into her confidence as to where she is from.

So will they have a future together if the repair is done or not?

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – TAKE A CHANCE AT CHRISTMAS (2024)

Single mother to Jae (Isaac Ng), Sutton Wu (Alli Chung) works for a publishing house, and her demanding boss is insistent she gets author Mateo (Michael Brown) to sign for the firm with his unfinished book, whatever it takes.

Thanks to Jae Sutton is signed up to a dating website which she is not thrilled about so Mateo sets her the task of going on five dates before he will allow her to see the chapters he has completed.

So she agrees and changes her life and her future and allows him to finish his book.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – WINTER IN VAIL (2020)

On the same day professional event planner Chelsea Whitmore (Lacey Chabert)

inherits a chalet from her uncle in Vail, Colorado, she learns that the promotion that she was expecting has gone to a new hire, so she quits her job and moves to the picturesque mountain resort.

In Vail she finds her mutual attractions of handsome architect Owen (Tyler Hynes), the charm of Old Vail, and a project to introduce a Strudelfest.

Much to the chagrin of Brigitta (Angela Besharah) who has been pushing her daughter Sigrid

(Kathryn Kohut) into the Princes orbit aided by Deputy Von Trier (Glenn Edward Gyorffy).

Though the couple do have the support of household member Maria (Alice Hamid), so will romance be the victor?

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – CHRISTMAS COMES TO WILLOW CREEK (1987)

 

The town of Willow Creek, Alaska, is on its knees following the closure of the cannery and are looking forward to a grim Christmas so California based Alaskan businessman Al (Hoyt Axton) plans to drive a truck load of Christmas joy from sunny cal.

However after he is taken ill on the eve of the trip, feuding truck-driving brothers Ray and Pete are forced together to take on the job along with Pete’s delinquent son Michael (Zachary Ansley).

To make things worse, along the way they run into Jessie (Kim Delaney) with whom they both have history, and she’s pregnant.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – MRS. SANTA CLAUS (1996)

 

It’s a week before Christmas Mrs. Claus (Angela Lansbury) feels neglected by her husband (Charles Durning) during the pre-Christmas rush.

So she has Arvo (Michael Jeter) prepare the sleigh and reindeer so she could take it out  for a drive around the world.

However due to bad weather she ends up stranded in Manhattan's Lower East Side in the midst the multicultural New York in 1910.

She first meets Marcello Damaroco (David Norona) at the livery stables where the reindeer are housed and he introduces her to Mrs. Lowenstein (Rosalind Harris) and her daughter Sadie (Debra Wiseman).

She gets a job working for an evil toymaker Augustus P. Tavish (Terrence Mann) along with Nora Kilkenny (Lynsey Bartilson) and between them they bring Tavish Toys to a standstill.

But will he exact his revenge by preventing Mrs Claus from leaving.
