THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – A SONG FOR CHRISTMAS (2017)

Country Music Star, Adelaide Kay (Becca Tobin) accidently gets left behind in Preston, Virginia, with no money no phone and no luggage, when her tour bus departs believing her to be aboard.

However, she borrows a phone from Hailey Lapp (Kendra Leigh Timmins) who is working on the Christmas tree lot so she can contact Sandra Renee (Zarrin Darnell-Martin) who is part of her entourage but can only leave a voice mail.

So Hailey takes her back to the farm and she is taken in by the kindly tree farming Lapp family, and being further stranded due to snow storms, Hailey’s parents, (Paula Boudreau and David Keeley) invite her to stay until she can get picked up, but none of the family realize who she is, except for son Dylan (Kevin McGarry) who knew who she was the first moment he saw her, because he was an aspiring musician, hoping one day to follow his heart and move to Nashville, if he had the courage.

The Lapp’s know the true meaning of the season but Spending time with them Addy soon finds that they are in danger of losing the farm they love, and Addy really wants to help them but doesn’t know how.

Adelaide enjoys the break from stardom and the longer she spends in Preston, the more she resents the path she is being forced to follow by her controlling manager Dean (Jason Paul), who won't even let her to write her own songs anymore.

Also, time spent on the farm means she grows ever closer to Dylan as they begin writing a new song together which shows her true voice.

In the end she rebels against her managers deceitful plans and follows dream and her heart and together Adelaide and Dylan perform their Christmas song live on stage at the Lapps farm which cements their love and saves the farm.

While vacationing in Italy, parents Elaine and Ted (Melissa Ordway and Justin Gaston) find themselves stranded after Ted loses his passport, so facing a delay on their return trip they need to find someone to babysit their children as their Nanny (GloZell Green) is spending Christmas with family.

The first choice Sitter is Elaine’s BFF lawyer friend, Nora (Tristin Mays), for order and discipline and Ted’s guitarist half-brother, Max (Nathan Owens) for the fun.

double-booking incompatible babysitters when one was an uptight planner and rule follower and the other and irresponsible childlike Uncle seems like a recipe for disaster but as the travel delay extends from a day to a week, the friction reveals a chemistry between them and they develop a relationship as they spar, amid the chaos and Christmas traditions, with Nora mellowing and Max growing up.

A fun Christmas movie in which Luther Krank (Tim Allen) is fed up with the commerciality of Christmas anyway but when only daughter Blair (Julie Gonzalo) leaves and goes to another country he decides to skip the holiday and go on a vacation cruise with his wife Nora (Jamie Lee Curtis) instead.

All they have to do then is resist the pressure from their neighbours to participate in the house decorating contest and survive all the other seasonal nonsense.

But when their daughter calls on Christmas Eve and says she’s coming home for Christmas, it causes an uproar in the Krank household as the family scrambles to create a perfect Christmas from scratch in 12 hours will hilariously effect when the pesky neighbours suddenly become their allies.

Susan Stone (Ally Walker) is a proper Bah! Humbug! Character.

As the story unfolds it turns out that little Suzie is the embodiment of Susan's inner child.

She is the Susan she once was all those years ago and she was there to help the lost adult Susan rediscover and recapture the love of life that she had once had but somewhere along the line had lost.

But it is a new author Thom Weller (Tom Amandes) who truly redeems the modern-day Ebenezer Scrooge.

Five children in the Australian outback, Helen, John, and Snow Thompson (Helen Grieve, Morris Unicomb and Nicky Yardley), an English visitor Michael (Michael Yardley) and an Aboriginal called Neza (Neza Saunders), ride their horses from school every day.

But at the end of the last school day before Christmas, they decide to take a short cut along a forbidden path, and they soon come across two strangers.

One of the men, Long Bill (Chips Rafferty) give them money and makes them promise not to mention to anyone they had seen them.

The two men are horse thieves and are later joined by a third, and together they intent to steal a mare called Lucy belonging to sheep farmer Mr. Thompson.

When the disappearance of Lucy and her foal is discovered next morning, the children believe they know who the culprits are, so they tell Mrs. Thompson they're going camping in the bush, while in fact they plan to find the thieves and rescue Lucy and the foal and return with them to the farm.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – THE SILENT PARTNER (1978)

 

A quiet unassuming bank teller Miles Cullen (Elliott Gould) observes a man he believes is studying the bank with a view to robbing it.

He is soon proved right and held up at gun point but having Anticipated the when the robbery was going to happen, he had already stolen a large sum for himself and had only left a nominal amount in the draw for the thief, which he later places in a safety deposit box, so the money never doesn’t leave the premises until he deems it safe to do so.

In the meantime, he romantically pursues co-worker Julie (Susannah York) but it seems doomed to failure after he discovers she is having an affair with the boss.

the thief Reikle (Christopher Plummer) realizes that the sum of money the Bank claims to have been stolen doesn’t tally with his hall and resents the fact that he has been outsmarted by the teller and resolves to get what was stolen from him.

So, a battle of wits ensues between a clever and ordinarily "moral" bank teller and a violent ruthless bank robber, as they desperately battle for superiority in the end.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – A CHEERFUL CHRISTMAS (2019)

 

Christmas Coaches Lauren (Erica Deutschman) and Colleen (Tianna Nori) are best friends, business partners and Christmas enthusiasts who have turned their love for the holidays into successful careers, and every day they think they landed the job of their dreams, where they have the opportunity to give clients their most perfect Christmas.

 

Then out of the blue they land their biggest job yet, when the aristocratic Anderson family hires them.

Because of other commitments it falls on Lauren to tackle the job single handed and her mission is clear, to make Christmas into a magical event for the family even though she is intimidated by such nobility.

Thankfully she finds an immediate ally in Joyce (Jennifer Vallance) the family housekeeper who know all about the family traditions, and Lauren certainly needs help, especial to break the ice with the handsome James Anderson (Chad Connell).

 

However, James is best described as frosty as he’s in the middle of closing a business deal, and he is far from receptive to her enthusiastic Christmas spirit, but Lauren is persistent, and James begins to thaw as happy childhood memories are rekindled, and love appears to be in the Christmas air until family lawyer and childhood friend Maryam (Samantha Madely) arrives on the scene.

So, will Christmas work its magic or not?

But before she reaches home a kindly wizard named Drosselmeyer (Brian Cox) appears who knows everything about her and her family so Clara invites him to Christmas Eve supper after which he takes her on a quest through a strange magical world to set her father free in time for Christmas Day.

After her children’s book writer husband Jack (Tilky Jones) reluctantly signs the divorce papers, workaholic event planner Caroline (Katrina Begin) is on her way to drop them off when she is hit by a car and when she wakes up, she has lost her memory.

So Jack and her parents make the decision to take advantage of Caroline's memory loss and correct her flaws and erase past mistakes, by hiding from her the divorce and the fact she runs her own business.

So, Jacks mission is to make his wife fall in love with him again and save his marriage before it's too late, but life isn’t as simple as that.

at the town Inn, managed by Jake Collins (Jake Lacy) and after spending all her money at the Café run by Debbie Collins (Andie MacDowell) she is forced to work for her keep, and in the process, finds purpose and romance.

At Thanksgiving dinner with her family, single College Literature Professor Holly, (Elisabeth Harnois) announces that she has had an article published in a prestigious journal but is soon overshadowed by the revelation that her married sister is pregnant.

So, she is forced to evaluate her life and is persuaded by her best friend Emily (Sasha Jackson) to sign up to a dating app.

After her first three dates didn’t go well, she was ready to throw in the towel rather than risk meeting another “frog” but then she is paired with a “prince” and arranges a date with Lawyer Josh (Chad Michael Collins) who is gorgeous, but she thinks he is all good looks and no substance.

Josh, being a serial womaniser doesn’t want to let a beautiful woman slip through his fingers, so he enlists the help of college roommate David (Jonathan Togo) who is also a Literature Professor at the same college as Holly.

Using the promise of an interview for a lucrative job he persuades David to write love poems to Holly on his behalf in true Cyrano De Bergerac style.

What widowed single parent David is unaware of is that the girl in question is the object of his own affections.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – THE KNIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS (2019)

 

In Norwich, Medieval Knight Sir Cole (Josh Whitehouse) is on a pre-Christmas hunt when he comes upon an Old Crone (Ella Kenion) in the snowy forest and concerned about her welfare, offers to take her back to the Castle on his horse.

Impressed by his kindness and understanding she magically transports him to present-day Ohio where he must perform a mysterious “one true quest” by the end of Christmas Eve.

On arrival during the holiday festivities, he meets a lonely high school science teacher, Brooke (Vanessa Hudgens) who is disillusioned by love after her boyfriend cheated on her.

The significant meeting between them actually occurred when she hit him with her car during a snowstorm.

As he keeps talking about Medieval England and his life as a Knight it is assumed that he has a concussion, so he is taken to hospital.

On his release from hospital with no injuries and being a kindly soul and feeling responsible for his state of mind she allows his to stay in her guesthouse until he feels more himself.

When it becomes apparent to her that he really is a time travelling Knight, Brooke helps Sir Cole navigate the modern world, and gets him out of trouble when he loses his way and tries to help him with his mysterious quest.

Fulfilling the quest is his only path home, but as the two of them grow closer, Brooke hopes he fails in his quest and Sir Cole begins to wonder if returning to his old life is what he really wants.

However, Mitchell is set on selling and involves property tycoon Mason Richards (Richard Karn) to get the deal done and return Jules to her busy city life.

But the joyous simplicity of bringing Christmas Land back to its former glory is a great temptation so decisions about life and love will need to be made.

A catastrophe occurs in the North Pole mail room when an entire bagful of Santa letters are accidentally destroyed on the fire and the Christmas wishes from one small town go up in smoke.

The only way to recover the wishes is for two young Elves, Mindy and Cam (Clara Kushnir and Ethan Yang), to travel to the town via the letter delivery system and get the information directly from the children and retrieve every missing wish before Christmas Eve.

On their arrival they meet Blake (Liam MacDonald) who immediately sees through their disguises, and they have to confide in him and enlist his help by going with him to school where they instantly begin collecting wishes.

But Blakes sister Emma (Elizabeth Ellsworth) and Mother Laura (Madeline Leon) hold the key to wish number 48.

The Gift of Christmas is an unashamedly Christian story.

George and Denise Barnett (Jeff Prater and Jenn Gotzon) are getting ready for Christmas in their Kentucky home, but George is concerned about a friend Don Ford (J. Barrett Cooper) and reaches out to Allen (Nathan Todaro) his studio guitarist brother in Los Angeles to see if he can track down Don’s estranged daughter Celia (Marissa Ghavami), a struggling actress in Hollywood, and persuade her to come home.

When he meets up with her, she is to say the least reluctant to return to Kentucky, but after she is evicted from her apartment, she has a change of heart, so, they set off from LA in Allen’s car and stop along the way to do good deeds.

Meanwhile in Kentucky all is not well in the Barnett house as George is stressing because Denise's parents Bob and Ellen (Bruce Davison and Dee Wallace) decide to pay a visit for the holidays and Church choir director Denise is fretting over the Christmas Eve concert at their church because they’ve lost their soloist.

However, Allen and Celia continue their journey supporting good causes, following the Christian Road and somewhere along the way they fall for each other as they write a Christmas song together and when they return home, Celia, who is a lovely singer, proves to be the answer to the soloist problem.

But that’s not the end of the story because there are conflicts on Christmas Eve that can only be solved in the Christian way, by forgiveness.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – A GINGERBREAD CHRISTMAS ROMANCE (2018)

 

Globetrotting architect Taylor Scott (Tia Mowry-Hardrict) has her eye on Paris as her next assignment, but with Christmas just weeks away, the firm she works for enters her in a contest in which teams will design and build life-sized gingerbread houses, but with the promise that after the contest she is likely be getting the position she has dreamed of.

Taylor ends up being teamed with a local baker and single Dad, Adam Dale (Duane Henry), he is reluctant at first but winning would give the bakery and his designs much-needed exposure which might in turn lead him to his dream of opening his own bakery.

So, both are motivated by different dreams, but spending time with Adam and his daughter Brooke (Melody Nosipho Niemann), either in their cosy home, decorating for the holidays or exploring the town at Christmas, fosters a feeling of longing for a place to call home.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – CHERISHED MEMORIES: A GIFT TO REMEMBER (2017)

A Gift to Remember is Based on the book by Melissa Hill, in which handsome Aiden Harris (Peter Porte) visits one of Philadelphia's last old-fashioned bookstores and has an accident after leaving which leaves him in hospital with amnesia.

Darcy Archer (Ali Liebert), enthusiastic bookshop employee, with dreams of succeeding as proprietor when the current owner retires, feels responsible for the accident, so visits him regularly, looks after his dog and helps to identify him and the life he can’t remember.

The couple soon bond over a shared interest in books, dogs and almost everything else, but she discovers a ring in his apartment which suggests he has a fiancée living in a different state.

So, will she lose the man she is falling for and will the bookstore be sold to a soulless chain. 

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – ALWAYS AND FOREVER CHRISTMAS (2019)

 

Brand marketing executive Lucy Bowers (Lexi Lawson) inherited her grandfather’s year-round Christmas store, “Forever Christmas,” in the picturesque hamlet of Stowe, Vermont.

Her parents are retiring and moving to sunnier climes and she makes a trip back home to run the store during its final Christmas season while her parents are in Hawaii, then after the Holidays she is selling the store to a trendy athletic leisurewear company.

However once back in Vermont, with the help of local diner owner, Scott Jensen (Mark Ghanimé) she begins to understand why the store is so special and why it meant so much to her grandfather.

Of course, no Christmas Movie is complete without a little romance, a sprinkle of magic and a visiting seasonal stranger from the north in the shape of (Beth Broderick) who Lucy thinks is the holiday help.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – A CHRISTMAS LOVE STORY (2019)

 

Former Broadway performer Katherine Clark (Kristin Chenoweth) is the youth choir teacher with a problem.

Its Christmas time, and the Christmas Eve concert is on the horizon, and every year they perform a new song written specially for the concert, the sales of which provides their funding for the following year.

The problem is that their usual songwriter is unavailable so Katherine needs to write the big song herself, which will keep them going for the coming year, but she is fighting an internal battle over her personal confidence as she only had one hit as a composer.

The second problem came in the form of Danny, a boy with a beautiful golden voice (Kevin Quinn) who she wants to sing a solo but she needs to overcome the objections of his widowed father, Greg (Scott Wolf).

Despite being turned down flat a determined Katherine decides to drive out to the Scanlon home to plead her case with Greg to let Danny perform in the choir and is successful when her bubbly personality wins Greg over but then, due to a violent snowstorm, she finds herself stranded overnight as a house guest.

Over the following weeks Danny practices for the solo as Katherine and Greg become a duet.

So, can they manage to find love in the midst of self-doubt and parental responsibilities, and will they weather the storm when the secret Danny is holding is exposed.

Guardian angel Rose (Angela Lansbury) goes to visit an orphan named Emily (Noelle E. Parker) who is sick in the hospital and tells her a story about another guardian angel (Dick Van Dyke).

Who has appeared to Annabelle Kingsley (Alivia Clark), aka Buttons, from time to time following her loving parents’ prayer to God to watch over her when she had scarlet fever as an infant.

When Annabelle is 10, she and her mother learn that her father William Kingsley (Ioan Gruffudd), a ship captain, has been lost at sea, then her newly-impoverished mother Sarah (Julia Burrows) is forced to work in a textile mill and the harsh conditions lead to her death.

So, Annabelle is an orphan and is bullied by the other girls until she escapes.

She finds herself alone, hungry, and cold on Christmas Eve, guided by her guardian angel she decides the only place she can turn to for safety is the church, and finds salvation.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – THE CHRISTMAS CONTRACT (2018)

 

It's the Christmas season, six months after web designer Jolie Guidry (Hilarie Burton) moved back to New York City following a breakup with high school sweetheart, Foster Broussard (Hunter Burke).

And she is dreading her return to Lafayette, Louisiana for the holidays, because she knows she will run into Foster who will be with his new girlfriend.

But her best friend, Naomi (Danneel Ackles), has the solution, a fake boyfriend, and the fake in question is her older brother, ghost writer Jack Friedman (Robert Buckley).

Nothing, of course goes according to plan, although love does overcome jealousy and envy in this delightful, well-paced and believable holiday treat in which Cheryl Ladd and Bruce Boxleitner also star.

Lizzie Richfield (Danica McKellar) becomes the house manager for the exquisite Ashford Estate in Virginia, which is due to be sold.

While preparing the property for the sale, Lizzie plans one final Christmas Eve Gala for the wealthy and slightly estranged Marley family, who seem to be a family in name only.

Robert (Neal Bledsoe) is the straight laced, all-business executor of the estate, Kip (Andrew Francis) is the archetypal playboy party animal, Sloane (Chelan Simmons) mother of two, and the 90-year-old matriarch of the family Pippa (Paula Shaw) who is against selling the estate.

Lizzie Richfield is at a crossroads in her life and as she is embedded into the lives of the Marley family, she finds herself drawn to Robert, but she is also very much on Kip’s radar, so can she navigate her unusually complicated love life while planning the Gala, healing family feuds and opening their eyes to the true spirit of Christmas?

In the lead up to Christmas, successful Chicago investment banker Nick Bellwith (Jesse Metcalfe) is fired for a bad investment decision.

He was expecting to be made a junior partner, as was his father Sydney (Michael Kopsa), a very successful international money man, so Nick is obviously hesitant to tell him of his failure.

One day he is spotted as he walks past the Star Top Christmas tree lot, owned by an aging warm hearted widower Clem Marshwell (Clarke Peters) who notices by his body language that Nick is troubled.

So he offers him a temporary job, at minimum wage,  assisting with the heavy lifting.

Despite not being a Christmas person following the death of his mother when he was a child, to his great surprise he takes a job at the lot, which is where he meets Julie Gibbons (Autumn Reeser), an astronomy teacher, and her son, Matt (Anthony Bolognese).

As he works the lot, the once self-centred Nick discovers the joy of helping others and as he spends more and more time with Julie the Christmas spirit washes over him as he begins to fall for the star Gazer.

When the stocking is hung on the mantle, the family begins to “magically” find items in the stocking that they learn have importance in their lives, however Lindsey is sceptical of its “magic” properties even when it seems to create small trinkets on its own.

But as the single mom and the carpenter spend more and more time together, she is left in no doubt.

One day she takes her nieces Petra and Anna (Hailey Harris and Anniston Almond) to visit Graceland, where she was once a tour guide.

While there she meets widowed single dad Owen Reed (Adrian Grenier) and his three children Camilla, Taylor and Adelaide (Nina Thurmond, Trace Masters and Laney Malone)

Owen is actually there for business reasons as he wants to hold a fundraiser for his company, at Graceland, so Harper volunteers to take his brood on the tour with her nieces while he has his meeting.

  

Following that first occasion there was clearly a spark and Harper and Owen see more of each other as they end up working on a joint event at Graceland, an Elvis at Christmas exhibit in conjunction with Owens fundraiser and they obviously develop feelings for each other, and as they grow close they help one another to make life changes, Owen learns to take time for his children and Harper learns how much she enjoys living near her family, but the big question she must ask herself is will Memphis be her home for the holidays or will it be her forever home with Owen.

Just in time for Christmas, Cleveland is hit by a severe winter storm hits and grounds all flights, pilots and all, including fellow pilots Nina and Brady (Julianna Guill and Corey Sevier)

The two absolute opposites are thrown together by a combination of the weather and a lack of accommodation and end up spending the week at the home of her parents' (Cheryl Ladd and Ted Atherton).

Nina was dreading the endless stream of Christmas engagements even before she spotted her ex-boyfriend at the party, which was in full flow on their arrival so despite their differences, Nina persuades him to pretend that they were a couple.

Obviously, it doesn't end there as they eventually get to know each other better.

It's an adorable movie, very nicely done, well scripted and great chemistry between the principal actors, a film to be enjoy during the holidays or at any time.

Abby (Madeline Leon), the proprietor of a noteworthy and historic Inn decides to enter a prestigious cooking contest in order to win much needed funds for repairs and improvements and gain some valuable free publicity for the Inn into the bargain.

The only fly in the ointment is that Abby can’t cook, in fact she’s a menace in the kitchen and is well known to the local Fire Department.

So, in order to participate in the lofty cooking challenge, she must find a competent assistant or an instructor to help her in the kitchen.

However, she does better than that when she manages to secure the services of an eminent culinary specialist Jason (Sebastian Sacco) who is no stranger to competitive cooking and things really heat up once they get started in the kitchen in more ways than one.

They decide to put their differences aside and get on with the decorating, but as they worked a snowstorm blew in and were forced to spend the evening trapped in the most romantic setting while the blizzard howled outside.

The storm then forced them to stay the night under the same roof and following that night Lacey was left to wonder if there really was any truth in the Callaghan legend and if fairy tales really do come true.

When Heidi Nelson (Emily Osment) left her small hometown of Pleasant Valley with the dream of one day becoming a successful painter, but she had to put her own artistic endeavours on hold in order to work as an New York City art gallery curator, which she made a great success of.

However, a week before the gallery's big Christmas party, a call from her sister Megan (Sarah Jackson) has her flying home so she can babysit her niece and nephew Katie and Tom Westwood (Trinity Roberts and Jacob Buster) while their parents go out of town.

Almost as soon as she arrives back in Pleasant Valley, she comes face to face with her high school sweetheart Chris Shepherd (Ryan Rottman), who is now a teacher, and is also giving her Nephew Tom, extra lessons after school to help get his grades up.

Despite not having designed for a while interior designer and single mom Abbey (Jill Wagner) is hired to decorate the estate of businessman Nick Sinclair (Matthew Davis).
