Lacey Quinn (Merritt Patterson) and her boyfriend Roger Whistler (Victor Zinck Jr) run a San Francisco based design company but just before Christmas she returns to her hometown of Wallowa Lake, Oregon, to act as maid of honour for her best friend Ava Callaghan (Brittney Wilson) at her Christmas Eve wedding to fiancé, Mason Cavalry (Carey Feehan).
A local legend has it
that if any couple spends the night in the Christmas cottage, they shall have
love everlasting.
However, Lacey does
not believe in the Christmas cottage legend or happily ever after for that
matter.
But the Callaghan’s
certainly do, and they adhere to the generations' old tradition of marrying on
Christmas Eve and honeymooning at the Christmas Cottage.
As maid of honour one
of Lacey’s duties is to decorate the cottage for the newlyweds.
It was a simple task,
which she could have managed easily alone, but she had someone to assist her,
Ava's brother Ean (Steve Lund), who Lacey once dated before things ended on bad
terms.
They decide to put their
differences aside and get on with the decorating, but as they worked a
snowstorm blew in and were forced to spend the evening trapped in the most
romantic setting while the blizzard howled outside.
The storm then forced
them to stay the night under the same roof and following that night Lacey was
left to wonder if there really was any truth in the Callaghan legend and if
fairy tales really do come true.
