In Norwich, Medieval Knight Sir Cole (Josh Whitehouse) is on a pre-Christmas hunt when he comes upon an Old Crone (Ella Kenion) in the snowy forest and concerned about her welfare, offers to take her back to the Castle on his horse.
Impressed by his
kindness and understanding she magically transports him to present-day Ohio
where he must perform a mysterious “one true quest” by the end of Christmas
Eve.
On arrival during the
holiday festivities, he meets a lonely high school science teacher, Brooke
(Vanessa Hudgens) who is disillusioned by love after her boyfriend cheated on
her.
The significant
meeting between them actually occurred when she hit him with her car during a
snowstorm.
As he keeps talking
about Medieval England and his life as a Knight it is assumed that he has a
concussion, so he is taken to hospital.
On his release from
hospital with no injuries and being a kindly soul and feeling responsible for
his state of mind she allows his to stay in her guesthouse until he feels more
himself.
When it becomes
apparent to her that he really is a time travelling Knight, Brooke helps Sir
Cole navigate the modern world, and gets him out of trouble when he loses his
way and tries to help him with his mysterious quest.
Fulfilling the quest
is his only path home, but as the two of them grow closer, Brooke hopes he
fails in his quest and Sir Cole begins to wonder if returning to his old life
is what he really wants.
