Coffee shop owner
Audrey Brown (Melissa Claire Egan) sends care packages to her soldier brother
Devin (Rocky Myers) whose serving in Afghanistan, and he in turn shares the coffee
with one of his comrades in arms, Matt Evans (Marc Blucas).
Matt much enjoys the
coffee which triggers memories of being back home, so he writes to Audrey to
thank her and she adds him to her care package list and the two of them become
pen pals.
After a year of
exchanging letters in which they bare their souls, their worlds collide for the
first time off the written page when he is transferred to the local base
shortly before Christmas.
After meeting face to
face for the first time they are clearly apprehensive about whether the
burgeoning love between kindred spirits revealed in their intimate correspondence
will translate into something beyond the written word and wonder if the spirit
of the season will help or hinder.
