THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – ALL THE CREATURES WERE STIRRING (2018)

 

Max and Linda (Graham Skipper and Amanda Fuller) go on an awkward last-minute date on Christmas Eve and the unlikely couple go into a bizarrely strange and sparsely attended theatre.

Once inside they are served up an horrific and frightening collection of Christmas stories, none of which has a happy holiday ending and to cap it all they find themselves part of the final act.

In a newly blended household the three siblings Brandon, Emily and Aiden (Chase X Drewery, Cheyenne Cummings and Randy Vince III) all have their own priorities as Christmas approaches and cannot see eye to eye on anything and are unable to understand the others points of view.

While completing his annual science project, Aidan, the youngest child, accidentally calls upon the spirit of Christmas, Alternis  (Stephen Fisher) who concocts a potion that puts the children to sleep and when the bickering siblings wake up they find themselves having switched bodies, and are unable to change back until they have learned how to see the others points of view spend the holidays together as a loving family.

On Christmas Eve, five seemingly random men, Red, Carl, a Priest, a Police Officer, and Ben (Christopher Bower, David E. McMahon, Jay Woolston, James Stokes and Kevin Roach) are mysteriously invited via e-mail to a seedy bar, and along with the Bartender (Katie Stewart) they decide to pass the time by resurrecting the old tradition of telling scary stories on the night before Christmas.

Each one takes their turn spinning horrific yuletide yarns, but it soon becomes apparent, there is something much more dark and deadly at play.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – MOST WONDERFUL TIME (2021)

 

Thirty-something Romance Writer Bria (Brittany Goodwin) has hit a wall with her recent novels so just before her mother sells their family home, which is planned for after the holidays, she heads home for Christmas.

While she’s home she reunites with her three best friends from high school Taylor, Autumn and Ella (Micah Lynn Hanson, Jess Barbour, and Brooke Burfitt), and as they reminisce and try to re-create their glory years, they reassess their lives in the here and now and get fresh perspectives on past romances.

The young Bria Taylor Autumn and Ella are played by Charlotte Myhre Shealy, Brooke Blackwell, Haley Falcione and Sydney Rowlette.

Grace Dorsey (Maya Jai Pinson) has always shared a special bond with her granddad (Faheem Saadiq Abdus-Salaam) especially at Christmas so when she returns home to South Carolina for the Holidays she is shocked by what she finds.

After witnessing various symptoms of memory loss, Grace becomes determined to get him the help he needs but it seems like her dad (Donnie Brown Jr.) and  Grandmom (Diane Powell) seem to be in denial and just blame it on his age.

But as Christmas approaches, he deteriorates and keeps asking when Christmas is over and over, and that continues even after Christmas Day.

So Grace suggests her Grandmom creates a Christmas Room so in his less lucid moments he would be comforted.

Despite the emotional toll, she eventually gets them to seek medical assistance and as her granddad's condition worsens, Grace tries one last attempt to jog his memory, hoping for a positive outcome, but is there one to be found.

Meanwhile, his mother, Elizabeth (Brooke Langton) meets a handsome toy company executive, Sammy (Patrick Muldoon) who works for an old man with a white beard (Edward Asner).

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – A SUNBURNT CHRISTMAS (2020)

 

Dressed as Santa Claus, escaped prisoner Daryl Dunn (Daniel Henshall), crashes his van full of toys into the barn on an outback farm ravaged by drought.

The failing property is owned by a recently widowed mum Fiona Raley (Ling Cooper Tang) who isn’t really functioning, and its 15-year-old Hazel (Tatiana Goode) who has to shoulder the burdens, of running the failing farm and parenting her younger siblings Daisy and Tom (Lena Nankivell and Eadan McGuinness).

None of them are expecting any Christmas joy this year, so when Santa Claus crashes onto their property Daisy and Tom think its good sign.

But Santa is there to find some stolen money hidden on the property and he’s being pursued by the man whose money it was, Dingo (Sullivan Stapleton) so the Raley family are about to find their world turned upside down in ways they could never have imagined.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – HANK'S CHRISTMAS WISH 2: THE NUTCRACKER (2024)

 

In Buckhannon, West Virginia, toymaking retired Elf, Hank Graham (Michael Sigler) raises the spirits of the townsfolk when he organized a community production of the timeless Christmas classic, The Nutcracker, with the help of a dance studio, and in particular the energetic owner Heather (Cydney Chase) and the town's enthusiastic mayor (Dean Cain).

Liam (Brody Hull) who now lives full time with Hank suffered a double whammy, when he finds out that his sister Bella and her husband Kevin (Arabella Weaver and Danny O'Brien) were not returning from African for Christmas.

But he is looking forward to the Nutcracker as Mayor Dean’s daughter Kate (Pyper Sartin) is preforming and he has lost his heart to her.

However the Mayor Dean’s assistant Charlie (Jessica Adams) informs him that a comedian called Frosty (Josh Novey) has already been booked to perform at the same venue. 

So it’s up to Hank to ensure the show goes ahead so the townsfolk get to experience the joy of Christmas with help from Noth Pole Elf’s Tippy and Toes (Jianna and Jeena Platon).

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – HANK'S CHRISTMAS WISH (2023)

 

In Buckhannon, West Virginia, it’s the first Christmas for Mayor Dean (Dean Cain) and his daughters Olivia and Kate after losing their mother.

It’s also his first Christmas since winning the mayoral election, and he makes the mistake of allowing his assistant Charlie (Jessica Adams) to instigate the introduction of new traditions, and this decision grates on retired Elf Hank Graham (Michael Sigler) and he raises his concerns with the Mayor.

Toymaker Hank also helps siblings Bella and Liam (Arabella Weaver and Brody Hull) who sleeping in Bella’s car by offering them a room in his shop.

The rest of the action takes place at a retirement home where Bella and Liam’s Grandmother lives and when Bella gets a job at the home, she falls for the owner Kevin (Danny O'Brien).

But its Hank who helps the townsfolk rediscover the joy of Christmas with help from Noth Pole Elf’s Tippy and Toes (Jianna and Jeena Platon).

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – ANNA AND THE APOCALYPSE (2017)

 

High school musical meets zombie apocalypse in this Christmas comedy horror.

Anna Shepard (Ella Hunt), her best friends John (Malcolm Cumming) and Lisa (Marli Siu), Anna's ex-boyfriend Nick (Ben Wiggins) and American exchange student Steph (Sarah Swire), must battle the zombies in the sleepy town of Little Haven in order to save the people who important to them before it’s too late.

Following the death of his sister Janet and her husband, Michael Maxwell Ben Stiller has to take leave from his job in Chicago in order to look after his nephews Justice, Junior, Samuel, and Simon Kicklighter (Homer, Ulysses, Arlo and Atlas Janson).

He is on his own with the feral siblings while Social Worker Gretchen Rice (Linda Cardellini) tries to find a foster family for them. 

Inevitably as he helps them out of one scrape after another, he grows closer to the misfits as well as Gretchen and he is forced to rethinks his former life in Chicago.

A young good hearted bachelor Wally Griswold (Steve Rudzinski) wins the top prize in a mysterious contest that he doesn’t remember entering.

It’s a once-in-a-lifetime, all-expenses-paid Christmas vacation at a Bed and Breakfast in Amityville.

So with Christmas Eve just around the corner he packs a bag and heads to Amityville.

So in this spoof of horror movies and romcoms he has to cope with a landlady who wants to kill him, ancient evil that wants his soul and a ghost woman falls in love with him.
