I WENT OUT CHRISTMAS SHOPPING

I went out Christmas shopping

But I didn’t get very far

Before I got caught shoplifting

As I stole an advent calendar

The shopkeeper had me arrested

Because of my larcenous ways

And for stealing an advent calendar

I got twenty five days

CRACKERS, FRUITCAKE AND NUTS

Crackers, fruitcake and nuts

They mean Christmas to me

Although to be honest, they

Could also describe my family

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – RODEO AND JULIET (2015)

A successful romance writer suffering from writers block, Karen (Krista Allen) and her daughter Juliet (Nadine Crocker) travel from New York out to the country after the death of Karen’s father, in order to settle his affairs and sell his ranch, but it soon becomes apparent that it’s not going to be that simple as family friend and executor of the estate Judge Lawrence (Buck Taylor) informs her that a local rancher she was in love with 20 years earlier, Hugh (Tim Abell) had a claim to half the ranch.

Meanwhile Juliet meets a special horse called Rodeo and a young cowboy named Monty (Zeb Halsell), who just happens to be Hugh’s nephew, and in addition to falling in love with her he also teaches her to barrel race, in the hope that she might win $5000 in a completion that would allow her to keep the horse.

ON CHRISTMAS DAY 1947

The Constitution of the Republic of China went into effect.

IF ONLY YOUR LEFT LEG WAS CHRISTMAS

If only your left leg was Christmas

And your right leg was New Year’s Day

Then I could devote all of my time

To visiting you between the holidays

WE HAVE THE SAME CHRISTMAS WINE

We have the same Christmas wine

Every year on Christmas day

“I don't want any Brussels sprouts”

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – THE ELVING PROJECT (2016)

The Buckley family, parents, Pam and Ralph (Alison Akin Clark and Brian Neal Clark) and their four sons, Simon, Mathew, Peter and John, (Anson Bagley, Jacob Buster, Josh Reid and Cooper Daniel Johnson), have a family Christmas tradition called “Elving” where they select a family going through hard times and perform some anonymous gift-giving, of food primarily.

As the Buckley’s had a new baby on the way, more of the burden of  “Elvin” fell on the boys shoulders, but Mum selected the family to be “Elved”, and that year it was the Hagbart’s, unfortunately the boys were all too familiar with the Hagbart’s as they were the school bullies.

The story revolves around the second eldest son, Matthew, who has daily struggles with the family and in particular Finn (Gabe White) and doesn’t understand why they should be “Elved”.

That year’s annual “Elving” coincided with the arrival of the Goodman’s into the neighbourhood, Monica (Caitlin E.J. Meyer), Juniper (Grace Hallows) and Allen (Evan Clark) who are very soon roped into the ritual, which is good for Matthew as he quickly develops a crush on Juniper.

So as the arrival of another Buckley draws near and the holidays approach Matthew finds that with charity comes insight, and his feelings about Finn soften.
