THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – THE PERFECT CHRISTMAS VILLAGE (2018)

When she was a child, Darcy (Caitlin Thompson), had no control over the Christmases with her argumentative parents Bill and Sylvia (Gary Hetzler and Norma Sheahan), so it was perhaps unsurprising that she grew up to be a Christmas control freak.

In fact she was so obsessed with Christmas perfection that she actually lost sight of what Christmas actually meant and what was really important to her.

Its only when she finds herself magically transported into what she always believed to be her ideal of the perfect Christmas Village that she learns that 'perfection' isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Darcy’s love interest comes in the form of Brandon and Tom (James Henri-Thomas and Robbie Silverman) in this quirky Christmas offering.

ON CHRISTMAS DAY 1974

Cyclone Tracy devastated Darwin, Australia causing unprecedented damage.

MY BROTHER WAS FIVE YEARS MY SENIOR

My brother was five years my senior

So he always led me astray

He took me on a hunt every December

Leading up to Christmas day

To find the presents that mum and dad

Had cunningly stashed away

WE ALL PLAYED CHARADES

We all played Charades

At the in laws on Boxing Day

My wife’s Uncle Jack

Really went for it I must say

We were really impressed

By his energetic display

It was ten minutes before we knew

His heart had given way

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – CHRISTMAS WITH A PRINCE (2018)

Dedicated Paediatric specialist Tasha Miller (Kaitlyn Leeb) is interested in only one thing, the welfare of the children under her care.

But her world is turned upside down when the handsome Prince Alexander Cavalieri (Nick Hounslow) breaks his leg on a nearby ski-slope.

Tasha is manipulated by a combination of her half-brother Nurse Jeff (Josh Dean), Chief of Medicine Dr. Gonzales (Lanette Ware) and King Edward (Charles Shaughnessy) into allowing him to secretly recover on her floor.

Initially she is furious that a spoiled Royal is interrupting the routine, however she soon learns that some tough love and a lot of Christmas spirit might turn the royal pain into a knight in shining armour.

ON CHRISTMAS DAY 1971

The Worst hotel fire in history killed 163 people at the Taeyokale Hotel in the South Korean capital Seoul.

THE NOT SO GREAT WAR

“Your country needs you,” said Kitchener

You’re needed to fight them over there

“It will be over by Christmas,” they said

But it was just getting started instead

In the cold trenches on Christmas morn

The guns remained silent after the dawn

Soon forgetting the horrendous conditions

Men began emerging from their positions

The opposing soldiers met in no mans land

Then smiled and shook their enemies hand

Briefly at peace both sides felt regrets

Then they exchanged gifts of cigarettes

A day without a single shot fired at all

They even got to play a game of football

Sadly the men returned their own way

They began killing again on Boxing Day
