NICE

Making your way in life, it’s nice

To know you can, once or twice

Rely on other people in a trice

For assistance, guidance or advice

They’ll be no shortage of advice

But knowing what piece or slice

Of advice or guidance will suffice

You might just as well roll a dice

This axiom though it be concise

Won’t be bettered to be precise

So you take heed or pay the price

“Don’t eat yellow snow or ice”

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – HOLIDAY ROAD TRIP (2013)

Holiday Road Trip is the tale of two co-workers, Patrick (Patrick Muldoon) and Maya (Ashley Scott), who work for a high-profile Pet Supplies company in Washington D.C.

The pair are like chalk and cheese which becomes evident when they are assigned to travel across country in an RV with the companies most prized possession, Scoots the dog, on a social media tour right before Christmas.

Maya is a driven, ambitious businesswoman looking to turn her job into a great career but after her boyfriend, Davis (Kip Pardue), dumps her just before Christmas, she decides to volunteer for the Road Trip along with Pat and Scoots!

Patrick on the other hand, who was like the little kid who never really grew up, was not given a choice, as Max (George Hamilton) the founder of the company, was Patricks father.

So the road trip begins and Patrick and Maya are a match made in hell, but as time and miles ebb away they find their difference ebb away with them, thanks to a little Christmas magic.

FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS SONG # 19 - In Dulci Jubilo

Despite the general awfulness of the Christmas song there are however always exceptions to the rule and I have a short list of personal favourites.
Without exception all my choices not only include the song but the best performer of that song and so in no particular order here is my nineteenth selection.

In Dulci Jubilo

Music by Mike Oldfield, Lyrics by M. Oldfield / W. Murray

Good Christian men, rejoice,
With heart and soul, and voice;
Give ye heed to what we say:
Jesus Christ is born to-day;
Ox and ass before him bow,
And he is in the manger now.
Christ is born to-day!
Christ is born to-day!
Good Christian men, rejoice,

With heart and soul, and voice;
Now ye hear of endless bliss:
Jesus Christ was born for this!
He hath oped the heavenly door,
And man is blessed evermore.
Christ was born for this!
Christ was born for this!
Good Christian men, rejoice,

With heart and soul, and voice;
Now ye need not fear the grave:
Jesus Christ was born to save!
Calls you one and calls you all
To gain his everlasting hall.
Christ was born to save!
Christ was born to save!

HAPPY CHRISTMAS AUNTIE PEGGY

For Christmas I bought my Auntie

A brand new wooden leg

I didn’t have it specially made

No I just got it off the peg

You may say it’s not a nice gift

Or even that it’s a killer

It wasn’t her main present though

It was just a stocking filler

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – SILVER BELLS (2013)

Sports caster Bruce Dalt (Bruce Boxleitner) is relentlessly competitive and has a ceaseless go-for-the-gold attitude.

Unsurprisingly his natural urge to win gets him into trouble, in particular while watching his son Jason (Kenton Duty) at his High School basketball game. Where he gets into an altercation with an umpire that lands him in court and he is ordered to do community service as a bell-ringer for the Salvation Army.

Worse than that because the incident was captured on video and quickly went viral and negatively impacts his job, where he is demoted, and his family, affecting the design business of his wife Kasey (Laura Spencer).

Major Melvin Lowell (Antonio Fargas) of the Salvation Army, knowing of God's love, guides his actions, and shows Bruce that the charity of Christmas stretches way beyond just coins gathered in a collection pot.
