THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – CHRISTMAS CAROLE (2022)

An enjoyable and credible reworking of Charles Dickens well spun yarn of redemption.

This retelling of the story is of a driven and heartless online entrepreneur selling cheap disposable tat, Carole (Suranne Jones) who on Christmas Eve is visited by the ghost of her mother Jackie (Rosie Cavaliero).

She tells Carol that she has lost sight of the things that are truly important in life and that she will have further visitation to show her the errors of her ways.

Eric Morecambe and Ernie Wise (Jonty Stephens and Ian Ashpitel) are the ghosts of Christmas past, Jo Brand is the Ghost of Christmas Present and Nish Kumar is the Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come.

Between them she is shown that her hatred of Christmas and her estrangement of her father Leon (Mark Benton) was based on her own misconception of past events and she

discovers the true spirit of Christmas.
