After Marie (Victoria Rowell) passes following a long illness the family is left with crippling medical bills making it impossible for them to keep their farm.

So it was agreed that family friend and neighbour Linette (Raisa D'Oyley) would buy the farm but when April (Melan Perez) discovers that her father Bill (Dennis Jones) lied to her mother about their finances on her deathbed, breaking the family tradition of honesty at all costs, and crushing April’s heart beyond repair so she vows never to return.

A year later she is visited in the city by her friend Linette, to say that Bill was living in the barn and his mind is fading fast.

Reluctantly she agrees to return home, and she and her friends have to try to convince him of his need for help before the police intervene.

After writing in the journal on Christmas Eve that Debbie got her for Christmas Veronica wakes up on Christmas Day, one year later, and the next day is Boxing Day the year after that.  

So she by experiencing seven years of her future over the course of one week she learns about what’s important to her family and what she needs in her life.

A young and ambitious politician Gloria Winters (Savannah Lathem) is working her way up the political greasy pole and accepts the appointment of Secretary of Agriculture and  has to leave Washington with her assistant Jill (Marley Ames) and travel to the farming community of Snow Point to meet local leader Mayor Christian Baker (Chase Giacomo) who Gloria thinks is a hick.

They stay at the Inn run by the Mayors sister Carol (Ebie Adkins) which isn’t up Gloria’s standards, and she moans about everything.

Gloria and Chris are like chalk and cheese, and it seems unlikely they will ever see eye to eye on anything, but as she actually starts to meet the people on the farms her true nature comes to the surface and finds her vocation and true love in the countryside.
