THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – GRINCH (1966)

 

An animated version of Dr Seuss' classic tale about the Grinch Narrated by Boris Karloff.

It tells the story of a cynical grumpy hermit who lives on the outskirts of Whoville where the Who’s live.

The Grinch (voiced by Boris Karloff) is a nasty green creature that hates Christmas, who goes on a mission to steal Christmas from the Who’s, however Little Cindy Lou Who (voiced by June Foray) decides to befriend the Grinch and she manages to change his heart with her abundant holiday spirit.

 

The other voices are provided by the vocal talents of Dal McKennon and Thurl Ravenscroft

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – THE FAMILY STONE (2005)

 

Wall Street financier Everett Stone (Dermot Mulroney) returns home for Christmas with his uptight, liberal businesswoman girlfriend Meredith Morton (Sarah Jessica Parker) and introduces her to his eccentric and outgoing family's annual Christmas celebration and immediately feels like a fish out of water.

His ultra-liberal, anti-conventional, rustic Connecticut family with their free-spirited way of life doesn’t take to the outsider and Everett doesn’t seem to be supportive only his brother Ben (Luke Wilson) gives her a chance, and a weird romance blossoms.

In desperation she invites her easy-going sister Julie (Claire Danes) for moral support, but she’s no help at all because she ends up falling for Everett.

So everything works out in the end but not in the way they first thought.

Doctor Patrick (A.D. Scott) and his exotic dancer girlfriend Melody (Chanté Small) are preparing to spend the holidays with his family and as it’s the first time meeting his overprotective judgmental mother Susan (Nae Su).  

When they arrive Susan unleashes her wrath on Melody, telling her that she's not good enough for her son.

So the big questions are, will Melody become part of the family or succumb to Patrick's overbearing mother's insecurities.
