Relationship expert Merry Griffin (Rachael Leigh Cook) who blogs to her
substantial following, her list of dating rules, is about to release her first
book about how she used her checklist to find her Mr Right, Dale Westfield
(Jacob Blair).
However only Merry and her best friend and editor, Darlene Walters
(Amy Groening) know that Mr Wonderful Dale doesn’t actually exist, at least not
in Merry’s life.
This is a fact that they have both kept from publisher Sonia Hendricks
(Karen Malina White) who would pull the book if she knew.
Darlene and Merry head to Vermont and Darlene's hometown of
Snowbridge, to try and figure out what to do, but Sonia smells a rat and makes
for Vermont as well.
The solution appears to arrive in the form of Darlene's brother, Adam
(Travis Van Winkle) as a stand in Mr Right, but will he prove to be the real
deal.
