Kandi (Amber Riley) was in a girl group in high school but dropped out when her father died during a performance on Christmas Eve.

Ten years later and she is a waitress while Tracy Brittany and April (Tanya Chisholm, Chantal Maurice, and Candice Van Beauty) are a successful group.

But when the “Glow Girls” arrive at the restaurant a fight breaks out and Kandi is fired.

She is prevented from walking in front of a train by The Angel Gabriel (Ric Reitz) who then follows her to a bar where she gets drunk.

She has turned her back on God and hates Christmas and her life, so she wishes she had the life she dreamed of sh he grants her wish.

But she finds that she is just as unhappy in the life she wanted as she is in her own, but it takes a while for her to realise that its her that has to change.

After mob collector Nicky (David Mann) loses the money, he has collected in a desperate gamble to raise the money for his dream business, he has to go on the run.

He sets off in his beat-up car bound for Canada, but the car breaks down, so he is forced to take the bus to Connecticut where his estranged wife Liz (Tamela J. Mann) lives with their daughter Nevaeh (Brooke Monroe Conaway).

After confessing to her Liz agrees to let him hide out in her house and gets him a job as a shopping mall Santa at the mall where she works.

 

While the mob searches high and low for him, he tries hard to build up interest in Santa Village at the struggling mall, combats commercial sabotage and tries to win back his wife.

In Astoria, Oregon, Jen Taylor (Clare Bowen) and her sister Ali (Anna Van Hooft) run an interior design store. Jen is the creative force and Ali is the business brain.

The store is doing well enough but in order to increase their online presence Ali persuades Jen to submit a video of herself and a design philosophy for Christmas to husband-and-wife decor influencers Charlie and Zoe (Sebastian Stewart and Lillian Doucet-Roche) for a Christmas competition.

Jen is very talented but lacked confidence so for the video they created a back story, and used and outgoing persona, “Jen T”, who has a perfect life, a loving husband, and a beautiful child.

Jen’s husband was her BFF, Max Faison (Brant Daugherty), and the baby was her niece.

The video is a great hit, and their online presence goes off the scale but as time goes on the relationship between Jen and Max changes from friends to what they should always have been.

However, retelling the stories had reawakened her feelings for Colby and Danielle is in conflict over reconciling her past with Colby and a possible future with Pierce.

In the end its Christmas weaving its magic that solves the quandary.
