THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – MY SWEET HOLIDAY (2020)

 

After hearing that her marketing ideas have been rejected by a client and that her boyfriend was staying in Europe and cancelling their Holiday plans Sadie (Malone Thomas) returns home for Christmas.

Almost immediately after she arrives, she finds out her parents are retiring and that they have sold the family confectionary business to a complete stranger with no experience.

Despite the fact she is resentful that she was never asked if she would like to take over the business herself, she begrudgingly agrees to teach the new owner Alex (Jason Burkey) everything she knows about chocolate, and to her great surprise she finds herself falling in love with him.

After missing out on a big promotion, New York editor Amber (Holly Robinson Peete), accepts an invitation from her Aunt Dora (Patti LaBelle) at her hometown Colorado Hotel in Silver Springs.

She is met at the station by high school music teacher Allen (Dion Johnstone) who she mistakes for a taxi driver.

Later she finds out that Dora has arranged for her to work with Allen on the Christmas Concert fund-raiser.

Initially they butted heads as they both had very differing viewpoints on the event but as they work closely together their animosity turns to love.

Maggie Collins (Amy Acker) and her ex-Jeff Randall (Kristian Bruun) still live in Austin and have remained best friends and coparent their two children, young teenager Sophie  (Myla Volk) and twelve-year-old Mia (Summer Howell) and Christmas is no exception.

However things are about to change as Jeff and his new girlfriend, Kate Reynolds (Brooke Nevin), are taking the girls to Aspen to spend Christmas with her father Ted and stepmother Susan (John B. Lowe and Jan Skene).

Maggie is disappointed not to be sharing Christmas with her girls but then on the spur of the moment Kate invites her to join them and her wealthy family at their family estate.

Inevitably there are ups and downs and clashes in style, but Kate’s brother Sam (Warren Christie) helps her navigate the unfamiliar world and he and Maggie start to fall for each other.

Blind English Literary professor Trevor Donovan (Ben Mehl) is struggling with the disruptive renovations at his college, so his daughter Annie (Ava Weiss) persuades him to get a guide dog.

Trevor is resistant at first, but trainer Peyton Lewis (Amber Marshall) spends a lot of time with him and her patience is rewarded.

But she connects with him on a different level and sees him as a man with all the attributes sadly lacking in her boyfriend Chad (Justin Gerald Nurse).

As she is a hopeless romantic, she makes it her mission to deliver it to its rightful owner and manages to persuade the handsome Edward (Jesse Hutch), to help her with her search and that leads to a very unexpected conclusion.

Five internationally known 1980’s soap opera icons, Lily Marlowe (Loni Anderson) Margaux Roberts (Morgan Fairchild) Lauren Ewing (Linda Gray) Dana Cunningham (Donna Mills) and Juliette Matheson (Nicollette Sheridan) reunite to share the spotlight and shoot a live final Christmas Special of their long-running soap opera.

However the moment the Ladies come together, old rivalries resurface that threaten to tear the whole production apart.

It’s up to producer, Alex (Travis Burns) and director, Nell (Taylor Ann Thompson), who are old college friends, to do their best to keep things on the rails while also settling unfinished business between them.

Successful Los Angeles based businessman Wilde Williams (Taylor Frey) has just sold his company but with Christmas fast approaching he is very low fallowing a breakup, so he decides on drastic action.

He goes on an LGBTQ+ app and swaps houses with handsome Oliver Whitlock (Rick Cosnett) in charming snowy town of Brilfax, in an effort to escape their holiday blues.

The two men end up meeting respective locals in the forms of Julius and Henry (Samer Salem and Daniel Garcia who lift their blues and spice up their Christmases.
