THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – THE CHRISTMAS LETTER (2019)

 

The Christmas letter is the heart-warming animated tale, narrated by Kate Winslet, about Christmas loving eight-year-old Henry (James Quinn Markey) who loves everything about it and can't wait or his mum Ellie (Caitríona Balfe) to post his letter up the chimney to Santa.

With his best friend, Frank the robin, he goes around the neighbourhood sharing his excitement.

But when he gets to the house of Miss Broom (Fiona Shaw) and she wants nothing to do with Christmas and shoos him away, but Hen is undeterred, so will he help Miss Broom rediscover the magic of Christmas?

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – DESIGNING CHRISTMAS (2023)

 

With the promise of a partnership, ambitious interior designer Colbie Clark (Susie Abromeit), is tasked by her boss Mallory (Kimberley Joseph) to take on the challenge of decorating the historic Chapman House in time for a major fund-raising Christmas Gala.

She was apparently requested by name, by the owner of the estate Eloise Chapman (Fiona Stewart) and has to work estate manager Ben Thurston (Liam McIntyre) which leads to some conflict in regard to styles as she favours the modern, high-fashion aesthetic whereas he tended towards the rustic.

Despite the initial friction they soon embrace a mutual respect as they work long hours together and an inevitable attraction develops.

But then Mrs Chapman’s daughter Layla (Brittany Grey) returns from London for the Holly Ball, so Colbie has doubts, and he has applied for another job in Italy anyway and then her boss warns her off, which add to those doubts.

So, will the pair align their visions to create a successful, heartwarming holiday fundraiser, and secure a romantic future for themselves?

The show is about a festive race across America for a huge cash prize and she is paired with retired ice hockey star Wes (Andrew W. Walker) and they instantly clash.

However, their individual skill sets complement each other, with her puzzle-solving skills and his physical prowess, and they help them excel as they compete in festive tests and trials.

Inevitably the two opposites fall for each other while competing, but will his career ambitions end the romance before it begins?

Several guests come to terms with love and its countless complications over the course of one night in an upscale Manhattan hotel.

An elderly couple, Bob and Irene Burgess (Richard Herd and Lee Meriwether) are celebration their 50th Wedding Anniversary.

Katherine and Jasmine Taylor (Tracie Thoms and Jasika Nicole) are a black American couple whose plans to start a family may not be as set in stone as they thought.

Sam Martin and Courtney Chen (Jamie Bamber and Linda Park) meet after 10 years to discuss the reason they broke up.

Schoolfriends Gabriela Santos and Diego Oliveros (Catherine Toribio and Maurice Mejia) are sharing a room before attending a formal.

Musician Jack Livingston (Christopher Backus) who is performing at the Flynn converses with Shannon (Laurie Fortier) and his father Charlie Livingston (David O'Hara).

And work colleague’s Susan Clark and Ben Haney (Jaime Ray Newman and Ross McCall) who are in town for a conference, share a couple of bottles of Pinot Noir.
