THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – THE MAGIC STOCKING (2015)

Three years have passed since Gilford town planner Lindsey Monroe (Bridget Regan) lost her husband during the lead up to Christmas, and because of the timing and the fact that her husband Doug was so integral to Christmas she had struggled to celebrate it.

However, she had decided that for the benefit of her daughter Hannah (Imogen Tear) it was time to put the Christmas decorations up again.

Then two seemingly innocent and unrelated occurrences take place, firstly she meets Scott Terrell (Victor Webster) who has been hired by the town to rebuild the town square gazebo, which must be completed in time for the lighting ceremony, and second Hannah buys a tattered old Christmas stocking at a holiday craft fair.

When the stocking is hung on the mantle, the family begins to “magically” find items in the stocking that they learn have importance in their lives, however Lindsey is sceptical of its “magic” properties even when it seems to create small trinkets on its own.

But as the single mom and the carpenter spend more and more time together, she is left in no doubt.
