Twas the night before Christmas
And all thru the Barn
In fact, not a creature was stirring
At all on the farm
They were bedded down warmly
In the fresh laid hay
And slept in quiet harmony
Until the breaking of the day
Twas the night before Christmas
And all thru the Barn
In fact, not a creature was stirring
At all on the farm
They were bedded down warmly
In the fresh laid hay
And slept in quiet harmony
Until the breaking of the day

From December 17th to the 23rd the Romans ornamented their temples and homes with green boughs and flowers for the Saturnalia.
Meet
the kids was a TV program in the 1960’s broadcast live from a Children’s
hospital on Christmas morning.
It
was hosted by well-known comedian Lesley Crowther who went from bed to handing
out presents and chatting to the sick children.
He
would also do lighthearted interviews with various members of staff but the
show was principally about the children.
The
whole show lasted little more than half an hour and it would normally end with
a choir of nurses singing carols around the Christmas tree.
It
was Heartwarming stuff but probably deemed to be to twee for sophisticated 21st
century audiences.
It was Christmas Eve in the workhouse
And not a hint of the
season in sight
No stockings hang by the
fire side
So, it’s just like every
