DECEMBER REMEMBRANCES

Every year during the festivities

I remember friends and family

Those who are no longer with us

To celebrate another Christmas

And with each passing December

It seems there are more to remember

But I take time in equal measure

To enjoy each moment and to treasure

Those special ones who are still here

Whose number also grows year on year

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – CHRISTMAS PERFECTION (2018)

When she was a child, Darcy (Caitlin Thompson), had no control over the Christmases with her argumentative parents Bill and Sylvia (Gary Hetzler and Norma Sheahan), so it was perhaps unsurprising that she grew up to be a Christmas control freak.

In fact she was so obsessed with Christmas perfection that she actually lost sight of what Christmas actually meant and what was really important to her.

Its only when she finds herself magically transported into what she always believed to be her ideal of the perfect Christmas Village that she learns that 'perfection' isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Darcy’s love interest comes in the form of Brandon and Tom (James Henri-Thomas and Robbie Silverman) in this quirky Christmas offering.

FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS CAROL # 4 - JOY TO THE WORLD

JOY TO THE WORLD

Words by Isaac Watts and Music by  Lowell Mason

Joy to the world, the Lord is come!

Let earth receive her King;

Let every heart prepare Him room,

And heaven and nature sing,

And heaven and nature sing,

And heaven, and heaven, and nature sing.

Joy to the world, the Savior reigns!

Let men their songs employ;

While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains

Repeat the sounding joy,

Repeat the sounding joy,

Repeat, repeat, the sounding joy.

No more let sins and sorrows grow,

Nor thorns infest the ground;

He comes to make His blessings flow

Far as the curse is found,

Far as the curse is found,

Far as, far as, the curse is found.

He rules the world with truth and grace,

And makes the nations prove

The glories of His righteousness,

And wonders of His love,

And wonders of His love,

And wonders, wonders, of His love.

CHRISTMAS ALPHABET

Angels from on high

Behold we bring news

Christ is coming

Do not be afraid

Emmanuel is coming

Follow yonder star

Go to Bethlehem

Hosanna God be praised

In the town of Bethlehem

Jesus was born

Kneeling shepherds before him

Lowing beasts in attendance

Magi from the east

Noel, noel, noel

On the first morning

Peace came to the world

Quelling fear and pain

Rekindling the light

Saviour son of God

The prince of peace was born

Uniting the world

Verily the most

Wondrous of times

Xmas festival of love

Yule tide of good will

Zion brought to earth

PLASTIC CHRISTMAS

Now Dasher, Now, Dancer

Now Prancer and Vixen

On Comet, On Cupid

On Donner, On Blitzen

So the plastic Santa’s say

Down at the mall

But shoppers have a verse

That serves one and all

Now charge it, now defer it

No cash and No cheques

On store card, on visa

On MasterCard and A-mex

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – CHRISTMAS DO-OVER (2006)

Kevin (Jay Mohr) tries desperately to be involved with his son Ben (Logan Grove) and ex-wife Jill (Daphne Zuniga), even if it means spending Christmas with her parents, Trudi and Arthur (Adrienne Barbeau and Tim Thomerson), who loathe him, and Granny Conlon (Ruta Lee) who likes him a little too much.

But what he hadn’t bargained on was the double whammy of sharing the day with Jill’s new boyfriend Todd (David Millbern) or the fact that the only road out of Town was blocked by a boulder.

But he could have coped with all of that for one day, but during dinner his son Ben suddenly wished that it was Christmas every day, and from then on in true Groundhog Day tradition Kevin was forced to relive Christmas Day over and over again until he gets it right.

FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS CAROL # 3 - O COME ALL YE FAITHFUL

O COME ALL YE FAITHFUL

Words and music attributed to John F. Wade

O come all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant,

O come ye, O come ye, to Bethlehem.

Come and behold him, born the King of angels;

O come let us adore him, O come let us adore him,

O come let us adore him, Christ the Lord.

True God of true God, Light from Light Eternal,

lo, he shuns not the Virgin's womb;

Son of the Father, begotten not created;

O come let us adore him, O come let us adore him,

O come let us adore him, Christ the Lord.

Sing, choirs of angels, sing in exultation;

O sing, all ye citizens of heaven above!

Glory to God, all glory in the highest;

O come let us adore him, O come let us adore him,

O come let us adore him, Christ the Lord.

See how the shepherds, summoned to his cradle,

leaving their flocks, draw nigh to gaze;

we too will thither bend our joyful footsteps;

O come let us adore him, O come let us adore him,

O come let us adore him, Christ the Lord.

Child, for us sinners poor and in the manger,

we would embrace thee with love and awe.

Who would not love thee, loving us so dearly?

O come let us adore him, O come let us adore him,

O come let us adore him, Christ the Lord.

Yea, Lord, we greet thee, born this happy morning,

Jesus, to thee be all glory given.

Word of the Father, now in flesh appearing:

O come let us adore him, O come let us adore him,

O come let us adore him, Christ the Lord.
