THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – 2ND CHANCE FOR CHRISTMAS (2019)

 

An amusing reworking of Charles Dickens well spun yarn of redemption.

This retelling of the story is about Chance Love (Brittany Underwood), an entitled spoiled pop star whose demanding nature has alienated everyone around her.

So on Christmas Eve she is visited in her home by the Ghost of her Grandfather Jack Love (Mark McGrath) to force her to confront who she is, who she once was and the dismal fate that awaits her after trading love for fame and fortune long ago.

He tells Chance that she has lost sight of the things that are truly important in life and that she will have further visitation to show her the errors of her ways and save her from his own fate.

Her first visitor is a crooner, the Ghost of Christmas Past (Jim O'Heir), followed by a spoken word poet, the Ghost of Christmas Present (Mark Christopher Lawrence) and finally Death (Vivica A. Fox) Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come.

Between them they must open her eyes to her behaviour and show her what she is missing out on and help her discover the true spirit of Christmas and mend the rift between her and her family while showing her who is really important to her.

Galia Garcia (Isadora Ortega) is a successful Afro Latina Los Angeles attorney and just before Christmas her boyfriend Johnny (Ron G) breaks up with her, so she returns to her small hometown for the holidays.

With the help of her 3 crazy aunties Whitney, Glenda and Charlene Garcia (Rosemary Dominguez, Adargiza De Los Santos and Jackie Nova) and her 5-year-old orphaned Goddaughter Southerly (Seren Merrill) she is reminded of the true meaning of family.

She is also able to puts old ghosts to rest, heal from her past traumas and fall in love all over again with her old school friend Terrence (Rodney Rikai).

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – LETTERS TO SANTA (2023)

 

Married couple Rebecca and Enrique (Katie Leclerc and Rafael de la Fuente) are involved in couples therapy after separating but are still co-parenting with their children Sam and Izzy (Kellen Raffaelo and Taylor Pezza) taking turns staying with mum and Dad.

When the children are taken to see Santa Claus (Bates Wilder) at the Mall, they are given a golden pen to write down their wishes with which they are told is magic.

So one evening they write a letter to Santa, and it comes true, so they write again and again, at, and they also come true.

What they don’t realise is that their grandma Camilla (Laura Cerón) and their Aunt Maria (Deanna Tarraza) are intercepting the letters.

But in the end all the children really want is for their parents to get back together so they can be a family again.

Introverted Marine biologist, Juniper Jones (Jessy Schram), is about to travel from Amsterdam to South Africa via Finland but changes her plans at the last minute to help out her best friend Candice Adams (Patti Murin) at the Aquarium in Mystic, Connecticut, to oversee the imminent release of a recuperated harbour seal.

Her stay in town is complicated because Candice’s brother, Sawyer (Chandler Massey)

Is still on the scene with whom she had an intense couple of days together ten years earlier but afterwards due to miscommunication they both thought they’d been ghosted, and they blamed each other.

But their reunion was cordially cautious and as they spend time together, they must come to terms with what happened in the past and overcome their differences to revive their relationship.

Single Lawyer Mary Ann (Laura Vandervoort) is unable to conceive so decided that she would adopt a baby and raise the child alone, but she had been waiting so long she was beginning to despair, so she prayed to God to fulfil her dream.

Just before Christmas her prayer was answered and she was told there was a baby girl for her in Bethlehem, PA.

After picking up Natalie from the hospital she is forced to stay in town due to a ferocious snowstorm.

She tries the nearest Inn, but they are full and after the Innkeeper Frankie (Amy Groening) phones around and finds that everywhere is full she suggests that Mary Ann and the baby stay with her brother Joe (Benjamin Ayres) and as it’s her only choice she accepts.

However while she is stranded in town, she becomes woven into the fabric of Joe’s family and friends and life has new possibilities.
