THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – SURVIVING CHRISTMAS (2004)

Drew Latham (Ben Affleck) is Chicago ad executive who has spent most of his adult life avoiding the family traditions of Christmas and planned on spending Christmas in Fiji with his girlfriend Missy Vangilder (Jennifer Morrison) but she preferred to spend Christmas with her family and breaks up with him.

He dreads being alone on the actual day, so he decides he wants to relive a childhood Christmas and returns to his old family home but with his loved ones long-gone, he decides to rent the current owners of the house, the Valcos, Tom, Alicia, Christine and Brian (James Gandolfini, Christina Applegate, Catherine O'Hara and Josh Zuckerman), to be his family for the day, and pays handsomely for the privilege.

He's hoping for a perfect Christmas but what he didn’t realize is that the Valcos are having their own problems, which his being there is making worse.

So will they all survive the ordeal and will any of their problems be solved  and will any lessons be learned?

Insurance Loss Adjuster Martin Dyer (Luke Goss) finds his life is falling apart, his wife Angie Dyer (Kym Marsh) walks out on him, he has a stack of unpaid bills and is about to be evicted.

Having reached rock bottom he really doesn’t want to work but is given a list of calls, Margaret Rogerton-Sykes (Joan Collins), Mr. Henderson (Tony O'Callaghan) and Dr Norman Wicksteed (Guy Siner) but the visit to the Doctor ended in tragedy.

But then he finds that some clouds really do have a silver lining when he meets young criminal Sam Leicester (David Byrne) and a beautiful florist called Emmaline (Lorna Fitzgerald).

Action comes thick and fast after Santa Claus (J.K. Simmons) is kidnapped and Callum Drift (Dwayne Johnson), the North Pole's head of Security  is forced to team up with Jack O'Malley (Chris Evans) a notorious hacker and lifelong naughty lister.

Leaving a worried Mrs. Claus (Bonnie Hunt) at the North Pole the odd couple and the boss Zoe (Lucy Liu) go on a globe-trotting mayhem inducing mission to save Christmas encountering mythical figures Krampus (Kristofer Hivju) and Gryla (Kiernan Shipka) along the way.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – A JAR FULL OF CHRISTMAS (2024)

 

Rose McCreedie (Brooke Burfitt) leaves her New York marketing job to return home to Lake Placid, for the funeral of her mother Dahlia (Eliza Roberts) with her daughter Lily (Casie Maghran) and inherits her mom's home.

Once back in town she is reunited her with her childhood friends Summer Pearson (Cara Maria Sorbello) and Everett Waters (Jason Frederick).

She also runs into her ex-husband Danny Cooper (Troy Escoda) and sparks fly between her an Everett, but the trio of friends uses Rose's mom's jam recipe to save the town church.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – MR. CHRISTMAS (2011)

Holly Maddux (Claire Coffee) is an advertising executive in New York and dreams of the perfect life, the perfect job, and of course, the perfect man to perfectly sweep her off her feet.

Then one day she comes around after a fall in the street to find the “perfect man” standing over her. And the perfect hunky gentleman helped her up and she hit it off with her new beau immediately.

However Holly soon begins to discover that the pressure to be perfect all the time is not at all as great as she expected.

And perfect Bo (Ryan McPartlin) is nothing more than a mannequin who has come to life, and it takes time for her to realise that perfection is much closer to hand than she thought in the shape of photographer Milo Ames (Jeff Ward) and the real love that's been waiting for her all along.
