THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – CHRISTMAS IN ALASKA (2018)

Jen Taylor (Tia Mowry-Hardict) works as an executive for a San Francisco Ad agency and is in line for a big promotion her life is unexpectedly turned upside down when just before Christmas she learns she has inherited a cozy Inn in Chestnut Hill Alaska from her aunt.

She has to fly to Alaska in order to inspect the property and complete the paperwork so she can put it on the market for a quick sale.

However when she meets handsome town attorney Brian Anderson (Rob Mayes)

She is surprised to find nothing is what she expected, and the small-town community is full of fun and festive Christmas traditions.

In time she starts to wonder if Chestnut Hill might actually be where her future lies and if Brian could be the Mr. Right that had eluded her.

A young boy Mark (Chris Kroesen) is given a special ring, containing a seed, by an old witch (Valerie Hobbs) and strict instructions on how to plant it and what to say.  

He plants the seed, with the Thanksgiving turkey wishbone and a magic tree grows in his garden much to the amazement of his mum and dad (Darlene Lohnes and Richard C. Parish)

As promised the tree grants him three wishes, his first wish is for one hour of absolute power, which he naturally abuses while his second wish is to have Santa Claus and all the presents to himself.

However that means Christmas itself is in jeopardy, so what will he use his third wish for?

The Snowman and the Snowdog is a delightful hand drawn animation of the story by Raymond Briggs, Hilary Audus and Joanna Harrison about a young boy whose dog has just died.

He moves to the house where the “Snowman” was built in the backyard 40 years earlier and finds a photograph of the Snowman he rebuilds him and a Snowdog on Christmas Eve that magically comes to life, and they all fly off in a plane to the North Pole to meet Santa.

Santa gives the boy a special gift, a magical dog collar which will make it a very happy Christmas for him.

the film has no dialogue apart from the opening narration by Raymond Briggs and song "Walking in the Air".
