THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – CHRISTMAS IN COMPTON (2012)

 

The owner of a Christmas tree lot in Compton California, Big Earl Hollander (Keith David) is a visionary with a big heart, who wants everyone around him to make the best of themselves especially his son Derrick (Omar Gooding) who is a part-time Christmas employee and part-time music producer.

Then during an argument about Derricks future, Big Earl has a heart attack and has to give Derrick the keys to the kingdom during his recouperation, which is when all kinds of troubles erupt in the week before Christmas.

In his desperation to prove to his father he is a success he tries to solve all the problems secretly, but things spiral out of control putting the survival of the lot  in jeopardy and it will take a Christmas miracle in Compton to save the season.

On a low budget flight on Christmas Eve flight attendants Shelda and Bunny (Deetta West and Ratoya Banks) have to deal with a weary and demanding passengers on a flight from LA to Atlanta, plagued with delays, turbulence and medical emergencies.

While a chance encounter leads to an unexpected romance between two strangers, Larry (Brad James) and Natalie (Tiffany Snow) who find comfort in each other's company.

Being a workaholic cost Billy Turner (B.J. So reluctantly he leaves Los Angeles to spend Christmas with the whole family, and the truth is he has never come to terms with his divorce, but for the love of his kids, he goes to Atlanta expecting to have the Worst Christmas Ever.

However he meets high powered lawyer, Harmony Davis (Taja V. Simpson) and is given a little holiday magic and a second chance at love providing he allows the old hurts to heal and forgive and forget.

After a difficult year Pastry Chef Amanda (Erin Karpluk) has her sights set on winning the Big Holiday Pastry Show but after hearing the brief decides to go back to her hometown of Paisley to recapture some of her old childhood memories.

She ends up teaming up with entrepreneur Simon (Christopher Russell) to recreate his Aunt Jackie’s (Janet Anderson) famous “Joy to the World” fudge recipe while she is on vacation.

As its Christmas while they race against time, holiday love begins to bloom between the unlikely pair.

And when she agrees to help out with his ranch, she begins to fall in love all over again and she faced with a difficult decision on whether to return to the city and her career or follow her heart.

Noel (Meghan Carrasquillo) is an unemployed actress who is offered an audition for a commercial on Christmas Eve at an Advertising Agency which suits her as it gives her an excuse to not go home for Christmas.

Her first meetings with the head of the agency, Robert (Adam Brudnicki), one at a coffee shop and the other at the audition, are quite frosty but later after she returns to the office to pick up her bag he offers her a job to help convince his Christmas-obsessed staff to return to the office to finish an ad campaign on Christmas Eve.

While wrangling the staff they see different sides to one another and  the lonely advertising executive, and the actress fall in love.
