At college one Christmas, Maggie Chalke (Brooke Nevin) finds out that she had lost her lift home for Christmas because they had decided to leave early because a storm was on its way, however Mitch O'Grady (Robin Dunne) overhears her conversation and offers to take her instead as it was on his way.
Maggie was doubly
delighted as she had a major crush on Mitch and sharing a car journey allowed
her to get to know him better and the journey revealed his great love for
everything Christmas and he teaches her some of the many traditions.
After he drops her
at her home, she spends Christmas looking forward to seeing him again, but he
doesn’t return to college after the Christmas break.
It’s Christmas more
than ten years later before she sees her long-time crush again, she is a
journalist at the local paper and he is a radio DJ and when she learns that
Mitch's love for Christmas has drastically changed, she tries to bring his
holiday spirits back by showing him the magic of Christmas with twelve gifts of
Christmas.
