Chance of Snow is a heart-warming tale of a family’s special Christmas that offers an unforgettable lesson in love and trust.
The
story begins when two sisters Maddie and Katherine
(Jobeth
Williams and Dey Young) and Maddie’s
daughters Kirby and Ellie (Traci Christofore
and Angelica Cassidy)
head to the Minnesota St Paul airport to visit their mother’s home for the
holidays.
Not
long after their arrival they run into Maddie’s soon-to-be-ex-husband,
sportswriter, Matt (Michael Ontkean) who is there to catch a flight to Miami to
visit his father and while they are there a blizzard hits and deposits a
blanket of snow and closes the airport.
Initially
the uncomfortable situation leads to an argument which is overhead by Earl and
Ruth, (Charles Durning and Barbara Barrie) a loving older
couple who make it their mission to get Maddie and Matt back together for the
holidays.
Trapped
at the airport the two weary travellers suddenly find they have time to
re-evaluate their relationship, and beyond the hurt and distrust that separates
them, the warmth of family and wisdom of new friends leads them, eventually, to
discover they have nothing more to do except fall in love again.
Katherine meanwhile who played her part in the reconciliation by taking charge of the children met up with former classmate Craig Johnson (Peter Syvertsen) and his son Jason (Evan Gabriel) and they found love of their own.
