THE HONEST SANTA FAIRY

A sorry old drunk is walking

Down the street one morning

Together with Santa Claus

The tooth fairy and of course

Honest John the Solicitor

When suddenly on their tour

At the very same moment

They spot on the pavement

Someone’s discarded wallet

So who was it who got it?

The old drunk obviously

Because all of the other three

Only exist in mythology

IT’S CHRISTMAS

People have been discovering

On a Christmas Morning

That the curse of Christmas

That’s causing the most fuss

Has been unanimously concluded

To be “Batteries not included”

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – ENCHANTED CHRISTMAS (2017)

When Laura Trudeau (Alexa PenaVega) left Utah as a young widow, she left behind her father, Manuel Montoya (Rene Rivera), her love of dance, and a broken heart.

Reluctantly, she must return home to spearhead the renovation of a derelict hotel, which must be restored in time for a Christmas Eve benefit dance performance.

Her daughter Nikki (Jaynee-Lynne Kinchen) is delighted as it means she gets a chance to spend some time with her grandpa so Laura agrees to take it on but she is shocked to learn that her old love, Ricardo Archuleta (Carlos PenaVega), the boy who jilted her to pursue a professional dance career, is the star of the show and when his dance partner Taylor (Chelsie Hightower) walks out on the show for an out-of-town audition, Laura has to step in for her, reawakening her love of the dance, not to mention her old feelings for Ricardo, a potent combination that sweeps her off her feet.

FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS SONG # 9 - Ring Out Solstice Bells

Despite the general awfulness of the Christmas song there are however always exceptions to the rule and I have a short list of personal favorites.

Without exception all my choices not only include the song but the best performer of that song and so in no particular order here is my ninth selection.

“Ring Out Solstice Bells” written by Ian Anderson and performed by Jethro Tull

Now is the solstice of the year,
winter is the glad song that you hear.
Seven maids move in seven time.
Have the lads up ready in a line.

Ring out these bells.
Ring out, ring solstice bells.
Ring solstice bells.

Join together beneath the mistletoe.
by the holy oak whereon it grows.
Seven druids dance in seven time.
Sing the song the bells call, loudly chiming.

Ring out these bells.
Ring out, ring solstice bells.
Ring solstice bells.

Praise be to the distant sister sun,
joyful as the silver planets run.
Seven maids move in seven time.
Sing the song the bells call, loudly chiming.
Ring out those bells.
Ring out, ring solstice bells.
Ring solstice bells.
Ring on, ring out.
Ring on, ring out

GREETINGS TO THE WORLD

“Happy Christmas” is what I chose to say

But many greetings are used for the day

To one and all during the festive season

And different languages are the reason

Say "Frolyke Kerstfeest" or "Joyoo Noel"

"Felleeth Navidad" even "Glaydlig Yool"

"Kalla Kristoogenna", "Boo-on Natarlee"

"Boas Festas" or "Sheng Dan Kwhy Lee"

You could say "Frerlicker Vine-akten"

Or maybe "Roshdesrom Kristovim" then

So you can say it in very many ways

But please never say “Happy Holidays”

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – CHRISTMAS MIRACLE IN CAUFIELD, U.S.A. (1977)

This movie is based on the true story of tragedy strikes a small mining community one fateful Christmas Eve in 1951, when a series of explosions strike a mine notorious for its unsafe conditions, and a group of miners become trapped underground after a cave in.

The off duty miners and those who managed to escape, along with family members work desperately to rescue the trapped men before an even larger, more deadly explosion occurs.

Mitchell Ryan, Kurt Russell, Andrew Prine, John Carradine and Barbara Babcock star but Melissa Gilbert steals the show.
