OH NO HE ISN’T

My great uncle John was an actor on the stage

Who was best known as a pantomime dame

Famous for his ugly sister and widow twanky

But not anymore which is a great shame

He has gone to that great pantomime in the sky

No longer will he don grease paint and his regalia

I will still see him though from time to time

Because he’s not dead he’s just working for Ryan air

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – ANGELS AND ORNAMENTS

Although Corrine Stockton (Jessalyn Gilsig) is still upset after her recent breakup with boyfriend Tim (Roger Doche), she still happily prepares for her favourite holiday.

Plus she has other things on her mind, Corrine is a gifted musician and auditions for a solo in a community Christmas concert.

She also plays Christmas Carols on the piano for the patrons of the music store where she works with childhood friend and secret admirer Dave (Graham Abbey).

What she doesn’t know is the angel in training Harold Wagner (Sergio Di Zio) has been tasked with bringing her and Dave together romantically so her holiday season gets an unexpected dose of romance, Harold, becomes her new co-worker and is on a Christmas Eve deadline from a higher power to fulfil his mission.

With Harold's help, Corrine begins to view Dave in a new light as he tries to form a love connection between them.

As the clock ticks down to Harold's fairy-tale mission deadline, Corrine must decide if she will open up to Christmas love or fall back into the rut that was Tim.

FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS SONG # 13 - It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Despite the general awfulness of the Christmas song there are however always exceptions to the rule and I have a short list of personal favorites.

Without exception all my choices not only include the song but the best performer of that song and so in no particular order here is my thirteenth selection.

"It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas" written by Meredith Willson. Performed by Perry Como and The Fontane Sisters

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Everywhere you go;
Take a look in the five-and-ten, glistening once again
With candy canes and silver lanes aglow.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas,
Toys in every store,
But the prettiest sight to see is the holly that will be
On your own front door.

A pair of hopalong boots and a pistol that shoots
Is the wish of Barney and Ben;
Dolls that will talk and will go for a walk
Is the hope of Janice and Jen;
And Mom and Dad can hardly wait for school to start again.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Everywhere you go;
There's a tree in the Grand Hotel, one in the park as well,
The sturdy kind that doesn't mind the snow.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas;
Soon the bells will start,
And the thing that will make them ring is the carol that you sing
Right within your heart.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas,
Toys in every store,
But the prettiest sight to see is the holly that will be
On your own front door.

Sure it's Christmas once more.

WHO’S THE NEW GUY?

A tenth reindeer flew in Santa’s team

One unknown pulling Santa’s sleigh

We know the names of nine of them

Including Rudolf leading the way

So who was the mystery number ten?

Twas Rudolf the brown nosed reindeer

Flew behind his red nosed brother

But he couldn’t stop as quick I fear

ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS # 2

I don’t want a present

That’s very practical

Or a gift home made

Or something musical

Something for wearing

Thoughtful or twee

Things for the garden

Or things fragrant or smelly

Nothing expensive when

The value is shocking

I just want something shapely

In a Christmas stocking

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – THE CHRISTMAS ANGEL (1998)

The Christmas Angel is the heart-warming and beautifully portrayed story in a Nutcracker meets Disney on Ice style offering performed by Dorothy Hamill and other equally talented skaters.

Chip Davis and Olivia Newton-John narrate the story of a decorative angel that is stolen from the top of a Christmas tree by a villain called the Gargon. The toys under the tree will not become presents until the angel is found so with the toys' help, a young mother must defeat the Gargon and save Christmas.

Mannheim Steamroller provide the music and helps to set the mood of each scene in a great family movie that won’t disappoint fans of Mannheim Steamroller or Disney on Ice.

FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS SONG # 12 - I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday

Despite the general awfulness of the Christmas song there are however always exceptions to the rule and I have a short list of personal favorites.

Without exception all my choices not only include the song but the best performer of that song and so in no particular order here is my twelfth selection.

"I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday" Music and lyrics by Roy Wood performed by Wizzard

When the snowman brings the snow,
Well he just might like to know.
He’s put a great big smile on somebody’s face.
If you jump into your bed,
Quickly cover up your head,
Don’t you lock the doors you know that sweet Santa Claus is on the way.

Well I wish it could be Christmas everyday.
When the kids start singing and the band begins to play.
Oh I wish it could be Christmas everyday.
Let the bells ring out for Christmas.

When we’re skating in the park,
If the storm cloud paints it dark,
Then your rosy cheeks gonna light my merry way.
Now the frostiness appear
And they’ve frozen up my beard,
So we’ll lie by the fire till the sleep simply melts them all away.

Well I wish it could be Christmas everyday.
When the kids start singing and the band begins to play.
Oh I wish it could be Christmas everyday.
So, let the bells ring out for Christmas.

When the snowman brings the snow,
Well he just might like to know,
He’s put a great big smile on somebody’s face.
So if Santa brings that sleigh
All along the milky way,
I’ll sign my name on the rooftop in the snow then he may decide to stay.

Well I wish it could be Christmas everyday.
When the kids start singing and the band begins to play.
Oh I wish it could be Christmas everyday.
So, let the bells ring out for Christmas.

You lot Take It

Chorus, sung by children
Well I wish it could be Christmas everyday.
When the kids start singing and the band begins to play.
Oh I wish it could be Christmas everyday.
Let the bells ring out for Christmas.

Why don’t you give your love for Christmas
