Riley Vance (Shenae Grimes-Beech) lands herself a prime new job albeit because of a case of mistaken identity.

The position is as personal assistant to William Young (Steve Lund), who recently inherited his father's prestige company.

Her first task is to convince him to visit the company’s flagship toy factory that he is under pressure from the board to close, so Riley suggests he visits the town to evaluate the plant and people.

As they work closely together, she helps to rekindle his long-dormant Christmas spirit and make a place in his heart.

In the midst of the depression, William Kamp (Brian Krause) and his family are struggling to get by, especially in the aftermath of his wife’s untimely death.

Eldest son Warren (James Gaisford) wants to work at the local garage to help out financially, but his father is too proud to let him, his sister Verna (Danielle C. Ryan) wants to go to college but as the oldest girl she had to take on the roll as matriarch after her mother’s death.

Middle child Russel (Ethan Hunt) has to do his share of the chores, Tom boy Ruthie (Ruby Jones) has to wear her sibling’s hand-me-downs but has a constant companion in her dog Violet but bonds with new schoolteacher Miss Mayfield (Heather Beers) and Norman (Jacob Buster) battles with the effects of polio and falls in love with a horse belonging to their surly neighbour Mrs. Rathbone (Nancy Stafford).

The children all expect another Christmas without gifts or festivities but out of the blue their father surprises them with one dollar in change and lets the children use it to buy special gifts for each other.

Just before Christmas, Chris (Jarrod Crooks) loses his job, but he keeps it from his wife Jen (Erin Antilla) which is problematic as his son has asked Santa for a vintage dinosaur like the one Chris had when he was a boy, and that makes it expensive.

So Chris does everything possible to earn the money to buy his son the perfect Christmas gift, the gift he has been longing for, that year’s BIG gift.

The tradition in their family is to put Santa’s name on the tag but because he has worked so hard for it, Chris wants credit for the gift and decides to take it by putting his name on the tag instead of Santa's.

So Santa sends his elves to Chris’s house to relabel the Big Gift to stop him getting the credit and a battle of wills begins between him and Father Christmas.

So who will triumph in this hilarious action-packed Christmas Story.
