THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – SANTA FAKE (2019)

 

Pat Keeley (Damian McGinty) was raised in an orphanage in Derry, Northern Ireland, and when he left as a young man he worked on the transatlantic cruise ships for a few years until he disembarked in New York and got a job at a bar owned by a mob boss Joe O'Brian (John Rhys-Davies).

Then at Christmas he is asked to deliver two mysterious briefcases to the Railway Station, but after getting spooked by some police detectives he makes a run for it and boards a bus for Santa Fe where he lodges with Mrs. Ortega (Soledad St. Hilaire) and is employed by Emily Gresham (Heather Elizabeth Morris) as a mall Santa and he becomes close to her while hiding out from the police and the mob under the watchful eyes of Santa Claus (Gary Farmer) and Alowishus (Pancho Moler).

After US Army veteran Nick Averie (Michael Welch) returns home from Afghanistan he finds he can’t leave the war behind him and is troubled.

This results in the loss of his marriage as his refusal to go to counselling and take medical advice for his volatile ways, drove his wife away.

His only positive move in his life is accepting a new job, his first job following his war duty, at the Air Zoo, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, a museum which houses a lot of World War 2 and historical planes.

It’s while he’s working as a tour guide that he is confronted by a girl called Michelle (Lauren Rys Martin) and she claims to be his guardian angel.

Initially he thinks that she is a symptom of his PTSD, but she soon persuades him otherwise and through various interactions with the spirits of service men he finds a new path to the future.

Its Christmas and there is a family on the verge of collapse until divine intervention arrives in the form of the Messenger (Eugenio Cotto) who helps them unwrap the greatest gift of Christmas, that will changes their lives forever.

Jules Claus (Mo Bakker) continues to help his Grandpa Noël (Jan Decleir) with Christmas but this year his sister Noor (Amber Metdepenningen) discovers the family secret that Grandpa is Santa Claus and after the present delivery turns into a disaster and Santa Claus is in trouble, Jules and Noor must team up and save Christmas.

After discovering Grandpa Noël (Jan Decleir) was Santa Claus, Jules Claus (Mo Bakker) has fully embraced Christmas again.

Everything seems to go according to plan as they are getting ready for the busiest time of the year, but then Jules receives a very special letter with an intriguing question.

As a result Jules wants to try and reunite a young girl's family for Christmas but Grandpa Noël refuses to do it, so some drama is injected into the proceedings.

After his father died the previous Christmas Jules Claus (Mo Bakker) doesn't like it anymore and wants nothing to do with it.

While his mother (Bracha van Doesburgh) works in the biscuit factory Jules spends a lot of time in his grandfather's toy shop.

Which is where he finds a magic snow globe which can transport him anywhere in the world and this leads him to discover that his Grandfather Noël (Jan Decleir) is Santa Claus.

The position should have been his fathers, but following his death his grandfather had to take on this job once again and despite his hatred for Christmas Jules now has to help.

Dating coach Abigale Slater (Maria Menounos) has dreamt all of her life to be a published author and she finally finishes her first book “a guide to dating in the modern world” and makes her lifelong dream come true, at least in part.

However, before she can go to print, she must satisfy her publisher Jack (Steve Vinovich), by proving her dating advice actually works, by making a man fall for her by Christmas Eve which is in 12 days.

So she reluctantly agrees in order to fulfil her dream, however her single-minded mission takes an unexpected turn when she meets Michael Ryan (Brent Bailey).
