THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – A CHRISTMAS INTERN (2023)

 

After almost a year after Cecilia (Jackée Harry) retired to Florida to live with her sister she discovers that retirement isn't all it's cracked up to be, so she decides to make a surprise visit to her daughter Alexis (Ciarra Carter) in California in time for Christmas.

At the same time an investment broker Charlotte (Vivica A. Fox) sends Donte (Doug Rogers) to evaluate Alexis’s start up business, Cyber Santa,  prior to investment.

Seizing an opportunity to spend Christmas with her daughter and get back to work, Cecilia accepts an offer from Alexis’s assistant Sari (Jasmine Aivaliotis) to become an intern.

On her first day she meets Warehouse Manager William (Michael Paré), and with Alexis and Donte making a connection and they all learn the importance of love and family during the most wonderful time of year.

When developer Noah Harrington (Christopher Russell) arrives in Oak Creek with plans to replace an abandoned Post Office with a modern office complex he is met with hostility, in particular the town's historian/preservationist Tessa Findlay (Merritt Patterson).

Then to the surprise of everyone at a town meeting, Mayor Mitchell (Todd MacDonald) suggests the two of them work together to find a compromise.

Meanwhile Noah’s friend and colleague Brad (Jason Wilder) gets close to Tessa’s best friend and librarian Darla (Kate Jenkinson).

Then Brad finds a bunch of Santa Letters at the old Post Office and Noah and Tessa work together on trying to make some of the 30-year-old Children’s Christmas wishes come true, and they bond and fall in love.

Tina Mitchell (Natalie Hall) runs a gift-wrapping shop, All Wrapped Up, with her three best friends Lily Morgan, Mia Parker and Olivia Matheson (Ashley Newbrough, Kathryn Davis and Cindy Busby) and her holiday responsibilities are piling up as she is in charge of planning this year's annual Christmas gala at the Alford House estate.

The Gala is especially important as All Wrapped Up are sponsoring the event, but things go awry when the Gala faces cancellation due to the estate owner selling up.

While Tina is shopping she meets a young girl, Haley Alonzo (Presley Allard) and her father Michael (Alec Santos) and they have a moment, but it turns out that he is the villain of piece as he owns the company that sold the estate.

Eventually Tina confronts Michael and he agrees to help her save the Alford House so the gala can be held as scheduled while Haley acts as matchmaker, but will all parties succeed.

Disaster strikes when a pipe bursts and the restaurant has to close for a couple of weeks

So with time on her hands she decides to do a DNA test and reveals the results to her friend Janet (Brandi Alexander) that she’s 50% Jewish, the discovery leads her to the Berman family, brother and sister Scott and Becky (David Kaye and Advah Soudack) and her birth mother Ruth (Marilu Henner).

She also meets food critic David Singer (Ben Savage) who is also a family friend and an unlikely romance blossoms over the eight nights Hanuka.
