THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS (1972)

 

After a nine-year estrangement from their wealthy father, Benjamin Morgan (Walter Brennan), after he had an affair with Elizabeth Hall (Julie Harris) which led to their mother’s suicide, he summons home his four daughters.

Reluctantly, because Elizabeth is now their stepmother, Alex, Freddy, Jo, and Chris Morgan (Eleanor Parker, Jessica Walter, Jill Haworth and Sally Field) all return to their father’s home on Christmas Eve, to find that Benjamin is bedridden, but has reinstated them into his will, and he believes that Elizabeth is slowly poisoning him to death.

He needs the girls to stop her, by killing her, if necessary, but as she was suspected of killing her first husband the worry is that she might kill them all.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – 12 GAMES OF CHRISTMAS (2023)

 

In Bailey Falls, a group of friends, Kelsey, Ethan, Nora, Liam, Amelia and Dan (Felisha Cooper, Johnny Ramey, Exzinia Scott, Ernest Pierce, Nicole Danielle Watts and James Zimbardi) meet at Kelsey’s house on Christmas Eve and begin playing a board game, “12 Games of Christmas” and are magically transported to the town off Yuletide, inside the board game.

They are greeted by the cheery Mayor Thomas (Patrick Labyorteaux) who tells them that they must play through the games in order to return home but they must work together to perform each Christmas themed task in order to get back to reality.

 

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – CHRISTMAS ON WINDMILL WAY (2023)

 

Mia Meijer (Christa Taylor Brown) is focussed on the Christmas Market, and her Oma Ann (Marcia Bennett) making her award-winning Kerststol to win the Fest Dutch Bake-Off competition.

So she is taken aback when Oma tells he she has sold the plot of land where the Windmill and workshop where Mia creates handmade furniture.

It turns out the developer Oma sold to is Mia’s old college boyfriend Brady Schaltz (Chad Michael Murray), and his boss was reneging on his promise to preserve the Mill and the workshop.

As they work to save the Mill, in their own ways the old feelings resurface, so will they succeed? And will they have a future together?  

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – SAVING THE CHRISTMAS RANCH (2025)

 

Carrie Williams (Brianna Cohen) runs the families Snow Village Ranch but is in danger of losing it after their accountant Sandra

(Kathy A. Bates) cleans out the Ranch’s bank account and leaves behind months of unpaid loan instalments and she only has 48 hours to raise the money to prevent foreclosure.

She also has to deal with Charming developer John Dunn (Jonathan Stoddard) who has been calling Carrie for a while, but then he turns up in person to make an offer, which due to some underhandedness by bank manager Kurt Townsend (Ryan Wesley Gilreath), so she might just have to accept.

But does his interest extend beyond the ranch and will Carrie reciprocate his feelings.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – A CHRISTMAS NUMBER ONE (2021)

 

A young terminally ill girl, Nina Cutter (Helena Zengel),  who is passionate about Christmas, only wants two things for Christmas, firstly for her uncle Blake (Iwan Rheon) to sort his life out and find love, and second for her favourite boy band to have the Christmas number one.

Meanwhile music manager Meghna Rai (Freida Pinto) has been sent back to London from New York, to manage “Five Together” a struggling boy band who need to revive their flailing career.

So Megs first task is to search for a potential hit, and she discovers a touching heartfelt Christmas song written by Blake Cutter, who she met once on a drunken night out.

While Meg competes with Blake for the rights to the song compromise leads to romance, against a backdrop off sadness, but with Nina get her Christmas wishes granted?

 

PS. The film is full of humour, pathos and great music, and the Funeral scene is extremely moving, but the star of the film is undoubtedly Helena Zengel who is an absolute delight as Nina.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – FIT FOR CHRISTMAS (2023)

 

After her fitness centre in New York went bust and her business and life partner Bradley (Stephan Miers) wants to take a break Audrey Parker (Amanda Kloots) heads home just before Christmas to Mistletoe Montana.

Her plan was to follow in her mother’s footsteps and teach classes at the dance studio at Mistletoe's recreation center but she finds out from her father (Barclay Hope) that the center is going to close in the New Year.

She is determined to fight the closure and comes up against Griffin (Paul Greene) from Skyridge Resorts who wants to redevelop the center who she dislikes with a vengeance..

But the more they bump heads at various events around town the stronger the attraction between them and she begins to win him over regarding the center.

Then Bradley turns up at upsets the applecart, so will she follow Bradley back to New York or follow her heart.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – A SEASON TO REMEMBER (2024)

 

Driven Detroit sports journalist, Symone Gibson (Michele Weaver) is highly competitive, because she has to be in a male-dominated world.

After four years at the station she has yet to make it to the anchor desk but with just a week before Christmas she is given the chance to find an attention-grabbing story that could take her career to the next level.

At the same time she meets free-spirited freelance cameraman Iggy Love (Nathan Owens) who is with her every step of the way as she  chases down the stories and gives her courage, a new sense of direction and romance.
