A
young terminally ill girl, Nina Cutter (Helena Zengel), who is passionate about Christmas, only wants
two things for Christmas, firstly for her uncle Blake (Iwan Rheon) to sort his
life out and find love, and second for her favourite boy band to have the
Christmas number one.
Meanwhile
music manager Meghna Rai (Freida Pinto) has been sent back to London
from New York, to manage “Five Together”
a struggling boy band who need to
revive their flailing career.
So
Megs first task is to search for a potential hit, and she discovers a touching
heartfelt Christmas song written by Blake Cutter, who she
met once on a drunken night out.
While
Meg competes with Blake for the rights to the song compromise leads to
romance, against a backdrop off sadness, but with Nina get her Christmas wishes
granted?
PS.
The film is full of humour, pathos and great music, and the Funeral scene is
extremely moving, but the star of the film is undoubtedly Helena Zengel who is
an absolute delight as Nina.
