Chicago
baker Stacy De Novo (Vanessa Hudgens) lacks spontaneity and is driven by
planners and schedules.
So
when her sous chef and best friend, Kevin Richards
(Nick
Sagar) and his daughter Olivia (Alexa Adeosun) tell her she has been accepted
for a baking competition in the kingdom of Belgravia she is reluctant to accept
but eventually agrees.
Quite
by chance, while she prepares for the Royal Christmas Baking Contest, she comes
face to face with her double, Lady Margaret Delacourt of Montenaro, the
dutiful, free-spirited fiancée of Crown Prince Edward (Sam Palladio) of
Belgravia.
Once
over the initial shock Margaret explains that she just wants one last chance to
experience life as a “normal person” before duty dictates, she marries a man
she has never met.
As
Prince Edward is going to be abroad for the next two days Stacy agrees to
switch lives, as long as they switch back before the contest.
Things
don’t quite go to plan as the Prince changes his plans in order to spend time
with his bride to be, and then Edward and Stacy fall for each other as do
Margaret and Kevin, but what will happen when the truth comes out?
