THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – KRAMPUS (2015)

When two branches of his dysfunctional family clash at a family meal just before Christmas, young Max (Emjay Anthony), who still believed in Santa, becomes disillusioned with the whole of the season and turns his back on Christmas when he tears up his letter to Santa and throws it out the window into the night.

Little does he know, that his lack of festive spirit and subsequent actions have unleashed the wrath of Krampus, the shadow of Saint Nicholas, a demonic force of ancient evil intent on punishing non-believers.

So Saint Nicholas is not coming this year, instead all hell breaks loose, when a much darker, ancient spirit, will be visiting, and Krampus and his helpers will not come to give, but to take.

So as beloved holiday icons take on a monstrous life of their own, they lay siege to the family’s home and forces them to fight for each other if they hope to survive.

It’s a dark tale with plenty of action and humour, well-acted by a cast too numerous to mention but the most notable were Krista Stadler as Omi and Conchata Ferrell who was a hoot as Aunt Dorothy, so well worth a watch but not one for the whole family.
