The
owner of a Christmas tree lot in Compton California, Big Earl Hollander (Keith
David) is a visionary with a big heart, who wants everyone around him to make
the best of themselves especially his son Derrick (Omar Gooding) who is a part-time
Christmas employee and part-time music producer.
Then
during an argument about Derricks future, Big Earl has a heart attack and has
to give Derrick the keys to the kingdom during his recouperation, which is when
all kinds of troubles erupt in the week before Christmas.
In
his desperation to prove to his father he is a success he tries to solve all
the problems secretly, but things spiral out of control putting the survival of
the lot in jeopardy and it will take a
Christmas miracle in Compton to save the season.
