Fulltime Puzzle Editor for Cynthia Marshal (Vivica A. Fox) at the Metropolitan Ledger and part time consulting detective Vera Vexley (Morgan Bradley) is invited to spend the holidays with the dysfunctional Sterling family at their country estate.

However when the head of the family Harold Sterling (Michael Paré) is found dead on Christmas morning, she finds herself leading a murder investigation  along with Deputy Neal (Harrison Russell),  putting her at odds with the arrogant, bickering and distraught family.

It soon becomes apparent that one of the assembled houseguests is the murderer, but question is was it one of the Sterling’s, Ellen, Troy or Michael (Caryn Richman, Rob Mayes, Randy Jay Burrell) or one of the others, Jan, Catherine the family lawyer Darren Caldwell (Jamie Bernadette, Katy Wilson, Jason-Shane Scott)?

She secretly decides to fulfil the wishes and finds renewed creativity and creates the character of Adeline the angel character for a children’s book.

A newly divorced mom Victoria Murray (Rebecca Casselman) moves back to North Pole, Alaska, with her daughters Olivia and Annette (Claire and Irene Casselman).

So she embarks on a quest to find the owner of her family's land in order to preserve her family's legacy  and expand the farm and she enlists the assistance of dashing Locum Doctor Walker Jennings (Marcus Rosner) who is a bit of a local historian.

While they search photos and documents about young Marguerite (Amanda Jordan) and Duke (Adrian Spencer) they heal old wounds and open closed hearts.
