THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – A MARY LITTLE CHRISTMAS (2024)

 

Mary Little (K.J. Baker) has her own Antiques and collectables store in a Memphis strip mall, but fears she may lose it if the new owners raise the rents.

She is also in pursuit an antique Nutcracker to complete her family's heirloom collection and believes she has found it at a local estate sale, so local baker  Gwyn (Grae Marino) plays matchmaker and suggests regular customer Wyatt (David Moncrief) accompanies her.

Unfortunately it is bought before the sale and Mary’s ex-boyfriend Richard (Cary Vaughn) leads her to believe that he has it and will gift it too her if she agrees to  sell him her store.

However the missing nutcracker leads to unexpected discoveries and romance.

Juliet (Erin Agostino) is tasked, at short notice, by her boss Hilda Holstein (Shauna MacDonald) with finding an eye-catching Christmas product that will attract footfall on the company’s retail platform.

Her incentive to succeed is a promotion so enlists the help of Tom Turner (Harmon Walsh), a candle maker and store owner, but he refuses, however he reluctantly agrees when he realizes the money will help make a Christmas wish come true his daughter Olive (Eadie Murphy).

While Juliet and Tom work on concocting Christmas Memory fragrances a romance develops between them, but when new terms to the contract are imposed without Juliets knowledge it drives a wedge between them, so how will their differences be resolved?

Justin (Lyon Hamill) leaves a lucrative position at a Texas law firm to take a job in Aspen as an A.D.A. which is a significant drop in salary so to make ends meet, he moonlights as a bartender, and shares an apartment with the idealistic social worker Mercedes (Maura Fawley) who also works as a ski instructor on weekends.

They soon clash professionally when he has to procecute widowed trailer park owner  Darla Sandhaven (Wendy Perkins) who is favourite client of Mercedes, which threatens their budding romance.

The bone of contention is the Justin applies his strict law-and-order approach, while Mercedes takes a bleeding heart approach, and all the while Darla maintains the saboteurs are at work in order to acquire her land.

Eventually they meet in the middle and put aside their differences to get to the bottom of the conspiracy and make sure justice is served and get romance back on track.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – DESPERATELY SEEKING SANTA (2011)

 

Ultra ambitious marketing executive Jennifer Walker (Laura Vandervoort) is in the running for a position in corporate while running promotions at a failing south Boston mall.

While walking the Mall with her friend and colleague Marissa Marlet (Paula Brancati), Jennifer comes up with a brilliant promotional gimmick to reach her goal, she decides to ditch the traditional Santa and hold a “Hunky Santa” contest to replace the old 37 year veteran Mall Santa.

The winner is a young local man David Moretti (Nick Zano) trying to save his family's pizzeria with the $10,000 prize money.

Sparks fly between Jennifer and Sexy Santa but complications ensue when it comes to light that the company Jennifer works for is the same one trying to run Moretti’s  out of business and if her promotion fails to increase the Mall’s revenue sufficiently it will close in the New Year.

So what will do? will she sacrifice her friends and a possible romance to attain her goal or will she adjust her priorities?

Every year Claire (Michelle Pfeiffer) has created a  special Christmas for her husband Nick (Denis Leary) and their 3 children Channing, Taylor and Sammy (Felicity Jones, Chloë Grace Moretz and Dominic Sessa).

She then extended her plans to include son in law Doug (Jason Schwartzman) and grandchildren Lucy and Ben (Rafaella Karnaby and Drake Shehan) when they came along, so every Christmas she does all the shopping, cooking, decorating, arranging entertainment and dealing with adversarial neighbour Jeanne Wang-Wasserman (Joan Chen).

However after arranging tickets for everyone to attend a Christmas Concert they all leave without her and she snaps, packing a bag and driving away.

When the family realise they had forgotten her they hurry home and find the house empty and realize she's missing, and they go into melt down.

After a series of misadventures, Claire drives to Burbank California to crash her favourite show hosted by Zazzy Tims (Eva Longoria) and when the family see her dancing on the TV they get on a plane in order to rescue Christma.
