THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – LEGALLY TENDER (2013)

 

Successful Boston attorney Mary Ross (Emily Rose) inherits a house in Plymouth, Massachusetts from her deceased aunt and when she went to see the house with her boyfriend Rick Allen (Adam Kaufman) they find local historian Everett Mather (Justin Bruening) in the garden taking core samples to prove it’s the true sight of the very first Thanksgiving.

Mary doesn’t want anything to do with it and takes legal action, but Rick just sees dollar signs which leads them to split up and the situation over the property is made worse by local journalist Victoria (Julia Jones).

As time goes on Mary becomes less hostile to the idea as she gets to know Everett and his parents Abigail and Parker (Lindsay Wagner and Bruce Boxleitner) culminating in a healing Thanksgiving dinner.

Its Christmas time again in Buckhannon, West Virginia, and the Mayor (Dean Cain) and his assistant Charlie (Jessica Adams) are finalising the preparations for the Christmas Parade and retired Toymaking Elf Hank Graham (Michael Siglerl) is going to lead the bikers in the parade.

However the head of the bikers, Slider (Richard Grieco) plans to cause destruction and mayhem in the town instead and it’s up to Hank and the ghost of Elvis (Joe Kent) to show him the error of his ways.

Sarah Becker (Lucy DeVito) heads back to her hometown for Hanukkah with her fiancé Chad (Cristián de la Fuente) but he tells her to keep it secret, and he chooses to stay at a hotel to work on a big deal.

She soon discovers that the family's bakery is in danger of closing down and her mother Linda (Gina Hecht) lets slip that her father Frank (Bruce Nozick) has health problems and the next day he has a heart attack.

But the biggest shock comes when she realises it’s her fiancé who is planning to take over the family business.

So, it’s up her and her high school sweetheart Ben (Jonah Platt) to help save the bakery but when they think they have failed, celebrity chefs Becky and Rachel Baum (Laura and Sarah Silverman) step into save the day allowing Ben to show Sarah the true meaning of love.

Its Christmas and Elizabeth Elliot (Molly Flanagan) is divorcing her husband Frank (Jonathan Cahill) and as he is also a co-worker their boss Bob (Joseph Callari) insists she takes some leave.

So, she reluctantly takes a trip home for the holidays with her free-spirited sister Sam (Tess Rianne Sullivan), but she hasn’t told the family about the divorce because she felt ashamed, so she becomes entangled in a web of lies.

They arrive home three days before Christmas and discover nothing was in place for the family's annual Charity Christmas party because their parents (Patrick Flanagan and Susan Crawford) want the girls to plan the party themselves and they must learn to work together.

To complicate matters they are forced to employ the services of a local handyman David (Michael Joseph Nelson) and there is an obvious attraction, but she tries to ignore the feelings she has for him.

But how will the family react when the truth comes out, and will the party be a success?

And will David be there to see it happen?

Allen Karroll (Tom Everett Scott) is a Christmas hater ever since his ex-girlfriend humiliated him in front of thousands of people one Christmas Eve which is a handicap for a greeting card writer.

He is also feuding with his neighbour across the road Zeb Rosecog (Wallace Shawn) who he hates.

Because of his preoccupation with Zebb he is in danger of losing his girlfriend Carrie Ford (Deanna Milligan) if he doesn’t sort his life out.

So, on Christmas Eve he is visited by the ghost of Jacob Marley (Dan Joffre), then the ghost of Christmas present Jodie McDougall (Alanna Ubach), the ghost of Christmas past Barry Freedman (Larry Miller) and the ghost of Christmas future Spike (Verne Troyer) but they have all come to the wrong address, they should have gone to his neighbour Zeb Rosecog.

However, they won’t listen to his protests, at least at first, and when they eventually do, he agrees to help them and learns a lot about himself as well as Rosecog, and that they have a lot in common.

So, when he awakes on Christmas Day, he sets about making Rosecog see the light and rediscover the joy of Christmas and also secure his own future with Carrie.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – RADIO ROMANCE (2015)

 

Two polar opposites have late night talk shows on WCV-Chicago, Sonia Mayerick (Alison Sweeney) has a feminist slant to her show whereas Nick Linden (Jonathan Scarfe) has his "Man cave" show with a misogynistic slant.

Then one day they fight like cats and dogs live on the air and the ratings go through the roof, so the station bosses give them their own morning drive time slot, and it becomes an instant hit because people love to hear them argue.

But love and hate are two sides of the same coin, and the two opposites soon attract but is there a future for them.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – JINGLE ALL THE WAY (2011)

 

“Jingle All the Way” is a delightful, animated Christmas tale about a young boy named Andrew (Ryan Bley) who visits a Christmas tree farm with his parents (Morgan Elizabeth Cox and Nathan Dunkin) in the run up to Christmas.

While he’s there, he meets an old lady, Mrs. Hibbert (Pamela Chollet) with a basket of Husky puppies she is searching for home for, and he instantly bonds with a young Husky pup he named Jingle, but he is unable to keep him.

As the car drives away Jingle escapes from the basket and embarks on a snowy journey to find his friend again, he is aided by a wise cardinal bird and is drawn to the sound of bells in Pineville but ultimately its Santa who delivers him to his destination.
