THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – SANTA'S CASTLE (2018)

 

While attempting to write a new story, L. Frank Baum (Robert Notman), is interrupted by his youngest son, Kenneth (Evan O'Donnell), their dog, Dorothy and Butler Wilson (Paul Nicholas Mason) and he is persuaded to write a tale about Santa Claus.

So, he spins them a yarn about the Christmas Eve “Santanapping” which prevents Santa Claus (Donald G. Baker) from performing his annual duties.

So, it’s up to his second in command Holly (Diana Chrisman) to execute Santa's emergency orders which name the ambitious young Elf, Whisk (Carter Treneer), to full fill Santa's deliveries, with Kilter (Winny Clarke) the pixie and Nutter the knock (Morgan Neundorf).

When they were finished, they find Queen Lulea (Samantha Walkes) who tells them that the Nogooders, Hatred, Envy and Regret (Reece Presley, Matthew Hawkins and Keith Cooper) were the Santanappers, so they have to rescue Santa.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – MENORAH IN THE MIDDLE (2022)

 

Sarah Becker (Lucy DeVito) heads back to her hometown for Hanukkah with her fiancé Chad (Cristián de la Fuente) but he tells her to keep it secret, and he chooses to stay at a hotel to work on a big deal.

She soon discovers that the family's bakery is in danger of closing down and her mother Linda (Gina Hecht) lets slip that her father Frank (Bruce Nozick) has health problems and the next day he has a heart attack.

But the biggest shock comes when she realises it’s her fiancé who is planning to take over the family business.

So, it’s up her and her high school sweetheart Ben (Jonah Platt) to help save the bakery but when they think they have failed, celebrity chefs Becky and Rachel Baum (Laura and Sarah Silverman) step into save the day allowing Ben to show Sarah the true meaning of love.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – CHRISTMAS LOVE (1995)

 

Carolyn Giblin (Connie Selleca) is a therapist living in Los Angeles with her pre-teen daughter Jordy (Asia Vieira) and has just gone through an extremely painful divorce.

Carolyn is anxious to move on, so she tells her daughter they are leaving LA and moving back to Mayville, North Carolina, her hometown and Jordy is less than thrilled.

When they arrive at Carolyn's grandma's old house they find it is in great need of many and varied repairs.

Being a small-town Carolyn soon runs into an old flame, Clay Traynor (Randy Travis) whom she left at the alter a long time ago, but he's still angry about it, but his loving aunt, Miz Leona (Rue McClanahan) is delighted to see Carolyn and to meet Jordy which angers Clay further.

One night, on hearing noises, Carolyn discovers that a young homeless boy William (Kyle Fairlie) is living in her basement.

He won't reveal where he is from or who his parents are and Carolyn befriend the boy, much to the chagrin of the town's social worker Eve Stevens (Brenda Bazinet), who also happens to have her eye on Clay.

With a possible romantic triangle brewing, two energetic kids, a Christmas pageant, and more, what will happen next in Mayville?

This is an excellent holiday offering for fans of romantic comedy, but it is that and far more.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – THE SANTA CLASS (2024)

 

After her father (Eric Pollins) retires and moves to Florida Kate North (Kimberley Sustad) reluctantly takes the reins of his struggling North Star Santa School, aided by her sister Bailey (Lindsay Winch).

At the same time former employee Dan (Benjamin Ayres) is fired from the St. Nicholas School which is taking all of North Star’s business.

Kate unwillingly takes him on for the weeks leading up to Christmas but on their way to the school's next session they discover Nick (Trevor Lerner) the real Santa Claus,  lost and confused  with no memory and they watch his sleigh take off into the night sky.

In order to help him remember they invite him to participate in the intense Santa training program, along with an odd assortment, Timothy, Isaac, Megan, Patrick, Bruce and Paul (Graeme McComb, Ryan Beil, Carmel Amit, Tom Pickett, Gary Jones and Paul Campbell).

There's a lot at stake for the school as they need to beat their great rival Blaise (Alessandro Miro) and his St. Nicholas School for the cup or be forced to close their doors.

On top of that Nick (Santa Claus) needs to remember who he is, as the fate of Christmas is at stake.

While all this is going on Kate and Dan’s hearts become entwined.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – A DENNIS THE MENACE CHRISTMAS (2007)

Dennis Mitchell (Maxwell Perry Cotton) is an energetic 6-year-old who can’t do right for doing wrong and drives his parents Henry and Alice (George Newbern and Kim Schraner) to distraction while having to contend with the neighbourhood bully Jack Bratcher (Isaac Durnford).

He also has a disproportionate number of encounters with his long-suffering neighbour George Wilson (Robert Wagner) who always comes off worse despite his wife Martha (Louise Fletcher) reassuring him otherwise.

Dennis is dreaming of getting a brand-new bike for Christmas because but it was looking less and less likely with every passing day, but he wants to make sure that Mr. Wilson has a perfect Christmas and makes a list, but each and every one backfires, and finally George snaps and yells at Dennis that there is no Santa.

So, it’s up to Bob the Angel (Godfrey) to put on his own version of “A Christmas Carol”, where he plays the ghost of Christmas Past, Present, and Future to show him the similarity between George and Dennis.

So, Will Bobs efforts bear fruit, and will Dennis get his bike?

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – THE THANKSGIVING HOUSE (2013)

Successful Boston attorney Mary Ross (Emily Rose) inherits a house in Plymouth, Massachusetts from her deceased aunt and when she went to see the house with her boyfriend Rick Allen (Adam Kaufman) they find local historian Everett Mather (Justin Bruening) in the garden taking core samples to prove it’s the true sight of the very first Thanksgiving.

Mary doesn’t want anything to do with it and takes legal action, but Rick just sees dollar signs which leads them to split up and the situation over the property is made worse by local journalist Victoria (Julia Jones).

As time goes on Mary becomes less hostile to the idea as she gets to know Everett and his parents Abigail and Parker (Lindsay Wagner and Bruce Boxleitner) culminating in a healing Thanksgiving dinner.
