Family Law Advocate Annie Park (Kimberley Sustad) is incensed when she discovers The Starlight Café is set for demolition in the New Year after Chicago-based Holt Enterprises refuse to renew her parents’ lease.
Her
adoptive parents Gene and Pat (Bruce Dawson and Rebecca Staab) had run the
beloved eatery all of Annie’s life, so she decided to take on the Holt
organization head on starting with William Holt (Paul Campbell) the
heir-apparent to the business crown after the imminent retirement of his father
Jim (Malcolm Stewart).
However,
Jim is still reluctant to leave the company in Will's hands as he is prone to
legal mess ups.
So, he wants
a lawyer to shadow him and keep him on the straight and narrow, which is when
he meets Annie who wants to save the Diner at all costs, while he needs a tame
lawyer to appease his father.
So, they
come to an arrangement, she will pretend to be his lawyer for a week, and he
will halt the demolition, simple.
Well, it would
have been simple, if they hadn’t got involved in organizing a Christmas
fundraiser to get Will out of one of those legal messes and fallen in love
along the way.
