Grandma
Margret (Ann-Margret) recounts the story to her granddaughter Lucy (Elle
Graper) of the time in 1958, when her younger self Maggie Bingham (Ginna Claire
Mason) left her privileged family in Philadelphia, putting her high-society
wedding plans on hold.
She
took herself off to New York City, on
the pretext of staying with family while wedding shopping, when in fact she was
there to make her secret dream come true by dancing live on stage in the
Christmas Spectacular with the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall.
She
just wanted to perform for one season before returning to Philadelphia to
resume the life her parents (Carolyn McCormick and Byron Jennings) have planned
for her and marriage Maxwell (Torsten Johnson).
But
in New York, she experiences things she has never experienced before, like a
sense of independence, camaraderie with her fellow Rockettes, Sofia (Sara
Gallo), Janet (Larissa Schmitz) and Alice (Tiffany Denise Hobbs) and most
significant of all Maggie learns what it means truly to be in love when she
meets John Slater (Derek Klena) a feeling she had never felt before.
However they are from different Cities and different worlds, so can they have a future together?
