Twenty-five-year-old
singleton Angela Moreno (Christina Milian) is at the mercy of her overbearing New York Cuban family (Lorraine
Bracco, Ron Canada and Luciana Carro) who don’t understand boundaries.
The
only person she could confide in is her friend and coworker Claire (Erin
Karpluk) but was in sympathy with the family in their matchmaking efforts to
get Angela to date and wed a suitable man, which the family think could be new
neighbour Eddie
(Josh
Cooke).
However
after receiving a magical snowglobe she discovers a Christmas-themed dreamworld
inside it when she goes to sleep and she is transported to an alternate
reality, where she spends time with naive country people in permanent Christmas
mood.
She
also attracts and admirer while she is there, Douglas (Matt Keeslar) who then
complicates matters when he follows her back to New York, followed later by his
admirer Marie (Kailin See).
But
when the snowglobe gets damaged and she is trapped inside it she realises that
her Christmas, even with her family, wasn’t so bad after all.
