Jessica Slocum (Juliet Sorci) lost her mother when she was just three and when she is at the mall in a department store and see’s other girls with their moms she is sad but she wins a free wish and Philomena (Doris Roberts) grants her wish for a mom for Christmas and brings Amy (Olivia Newton-John) a mannequin, to life, but it only last until midnight on Christmas Eve.

When she moves into to Jessica’s home and her father Jim (Doug Sheehan) is immediately attracted to her.

But store detective Sergeant Morelli (Carmen Argenziano) is watching Amy very closely, but time is the real enemy.

So, what will happen at midnight on Christmas Eve?

(Mae Whitman and Evan Sabara) are threatened with foster care, so their Aunt Emilie (Carla Gugino) drives away with them and they end up in the sleepy town of Bethlehem just before Christmas, but she needs a miracle to keep their family together after Berry is sentenced to 5 years in prison. When they visit a diner, they unknowingly meet an Angel (Patty Duke) who directs the to an empty house.

A series of kindnesses and coincidences gives the trio a chance at happiness especially when Police Captain Nathan Blair (David Conrad) comes not their lives.

But everything unravels on Christmas Eve and Emilie finds herself in front of Judge Nancy Jakes (Lynn Redgrave).

So, will they get the Happy Christmas they all deserve?

Max (Peter Falk) is an angel who leaves a package with shop clerk Sally Reid (Tammy Blanchard), but he bungled his heavenly mission, so his boss Jo (Katey Sagal) comes to earth to correct his mistake and benches him.

She must recover the mysterious box that had been lost for decades and deliver it to Karl Hoffman (Seann Gallagher), and it must be done before Christmas, but she has never been to earth before and overindulges on earthly pleasures so must call on Max to help her.

Karl must heal the rift between him and his dad Franz (Vlasta Vrana) while Sally is trying to secure a future for her and her younger brother Jimmy (Alexander Conti) and Karl and Sally come together.
