As Christmas approaches in 1903, a widowed mother Rose Cameron
(Reba McEntire) is struggling to her son Toby (Devon Alan)
and
keep up the payments on her Oregon ranch and clear the debts she inherited from
her husband.
Also,
someone is trying to run off her remaining cattle so that the banker Harlan
Gotch (Ronny Cox) can foreclose.
But
she’s tough and resilient and with the arrival of a drifter Harry Withers
(Thomas Ian Griffith) and a steadfast attitude, and with her own open heart she
awakens the cold hearts around her and manages to turn the tide.
