Just before Christmas, Theodora Greenly (Sebrina Scott) is sent to Ohio to complete the foreclosure on the King farm but arrives on the day of the funeral for the mother of Charles King (John Wells).
Being a time consumed professional and seemingly devoid of empathy she
coldly delivers the news that his mother had defaulted on the mortgage and was
there to repossess the farm.
However, despite her cold demeanour, she is persuaded to allow Charles
an extra day to consult his bank, and she uses the time to check some details
herself.
When she returns to the farm, she badly sprains her ankle and is
forced to stay until she can put her weight on it again.
While experiencing his hospitality she begins to thaw and they are
both taken by surprise when it appears that they have chemistry, and while they
are falling for each other it becomes apparent that the repossession she had
been sent to Ohio to execute is not at all above board.
