THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – THE NINE LIVES OF CHRISTMAS

Firefighter Zachary Stone (Brandon Routh) is happy with the single life, no strings, no commitments and no settling down.

He has a succession of stunningly beautiful girlfriends, the latest one being model Blair (Chelsea Hobbs) but after he adopts a stray cat called Ambrose or more precisely the cat adopts Zachary, he meets veterinarian student Marilee White (Kimberly Sustad) in the pet food aisle at the supermarket and he begins to question if the single life is as fulfilling as he thought it was.

Marilee has also sworn off serious commitment or in fact dating in general until she finishes her final year of study but she is nonetheless drawn to the good looking firefighter.

They meet several times and the attraction grows until Blair gets Marilee fired from her dad’s pet store which leads to Zachary dumping her and going off in search of Marilee to apologize.

When he finally runs into her she gets evicted from her apartment for a breach of the tenancy agreement, namely having a cat.

So needing a place to stay he offers her his spare room and then the sexual tension builds between them.

But the question is will either of them break their vows against commitment in lieu of the love that is growing between them.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – IT HAPPENED ONE CHRISTMAS (1977)

“It Happened One Christmas” is a reworking of the 1946 Frank Capra classic “It's A Wonderful Life”

A despondent and suicidal Mary Bailey Hatch is praying for guidance on what to do about an incident, no fault of her own, which threatens her name and the community standing of her long-time family business, the Bailey Building and Loan.

After suffering a financial catastrophe, she sees suicide as a possible solution to her predicament, only to be rescued by a whimsical, endearing, trainee-angel named Clara Oddbody (Cloris Leachman) and because Mary says that the world would have been better off if she was never born, Clara shows her what the lives of the people she loved would have been like if Mary had never been born, Mary’s husband George (Wayne Rogers), Uncle Willie (Barney Martin), Mr. Gower (Dick O'Neill), Ma Bailey (Doris Roberts), Peter Bailey (Richard Dysart) and Harry Bailey (Christopher Guest).

And after years of feeling trapped in a small-town Mary finally recognizes her life as wonderful and truly rich.
