THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – A CONSERVATION CAROL (1979)

 

Patrick Harris stars as Ebenezer Scrooge in this unusual retelling of Charles Dickens' “A Christmas Carol”.

The classic tale in which he is visited on Christmas Eve by a ghost (Annabella Turco), who scares him with tales of doom and warns him he will have further visitations.

The first visitor is the ghost of Christmas Past (Gino Anguillara), and the second visitor is the ghost of Christmas Present (Vince Carroll), but they’re not there to teach him the true meaning of Christmas,

Instead, he is dragged through his past, present and future, all in the name of ride sharing, and weening him off his petroleum habit.

 

Charles Williams, Dennis Schneider, Frank Daly, Ken Weisbarth, Christopher Read, Marianna Bach, Trisha Ioli, Doreena King, Doris Geiger and Allison Ryder, also star.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – THE FIRST CHRISTMAS TREE (1971)

 

A woodcarver and his wife and two children live in a remote house in the forest where he cuts the wood for his work.

On Christmas Eve he goes into town with all the many toys and gifts he has carved in order to sell them.

In his absence the children decorate the little tree outside their house with painted pinecones, straw bows and other decorations so that their father would see it.

But he was later leaving town than he planned because people still wanted to buy his toys, so it was dark as walked through the forest and he lost his way.

Until he saw a distant light in the darkness which he followed and when he got closer, he could see it was the candle on the Christmas tree that led him home.
